Dodgy Neighbours? Lock Rss

Just wondering some opinions....we live in a fairly quiet street/neighbourhood and some new renters have moved in across the road from us. they are a bunch of young guys around 20ish.

I am sure that something dodgy is going on with them. There are cars coming and going at all times of the day & night (I am feeding my DD in the middle of the night and hear them). They pull up, stay for about 10mins and the drive off?? Weird??

They have also started to park cars on the street that have been smashed into and not registered (with wheels off them and windows missing).

I don't think any of them work so they are always home.

They have been in the house for about 3 months now and this has been happening since they moved in (as I type 2 cars have just come and gone!)

What do you ladies think...is it worth reporting to someone??
Wow, that does sound dodgy and if it were me I'd call Police Assistance (not sure if the number is national, but here in SA it's 131 444.

It's definitely worth mentioning to them

They probably don't..they probably pay rent with drug money <img src='https://www.huggies.com.au/forum/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/dry.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='<_<' />

Sounds alot like they are selling drugs from the house,

we had one of these houses across the road from us and although we never reported it, alot of people in the neighbourhood did but nothing was ever done..it never affected us directly in anyway but did make me feel slightly uncomfortable. One night there was a massive fight there involving an axe and someone getting taken to hospital, wasn't nice getting up in the morning and seeing the house across the road surrounded by police tape! Still nothing was done by the cops and the same thing went on as usual.

Seeing as it's a rental are you able to contact the rental agency they're with, if you know which one it is, and tell them what you think is going on at the house? You could do this anonymously if you wanted to
dodgy....but u dont want to get on the bad side of ppl who r involved with the drug world..... do bikies come around often...???? maybe just call police and dont leave any details!! u dont want to get anyone smashing your windows or something.

I don't know what real estate agent they rent through, but might try and find out.

They don't affect us directly but in the street we pretty much all have primary school aged children or younger and it just worries me that one of the kids will get hit by one of their "clients".

There has already been a few fights in the street and bottles thrown etc...so not too nice.

Might see if I can find out the real estate or do the annonymous call to the non-urgent police line.

Thanks for the replies smile
Your council can do something about the dead cars if they're on the street, they shove a notice on them and then move them after a certain amount of time. 131444 is the number you want. They'll see your number when you ring so you wont be anonymous. They'll ask for your details and also ask if you'd be willing to make a statement if anything results in going to court or a conviction. I ring them regularly. They'll ask for license plate numbers every time, if you can't give that then they get much less interested. If you let the real estate know your concerns, they'll be able to keep an eye out for dodgy goings on when they do the inspections. If you can't figure out who the real estate agency is, council may be able to help find the owner and you could relay your concerns that way.
Good luck with it!
Google the address an it may come up with a real estate it has been through or is through an just give them a call to see if they have that property at the moment. I googled my address the other night for a reason an it gave me the realestate I'm renting through an alot of other info.

Oh hi, i didnt realise i had house mates...

I have the same thing at the house across the road from us. The street is full of kids. But we dont have the cars all smashed up on the street.

I think there is like 1 or 2 people that actually live there. But about 5-6 different people have keys or whatever to get into the house. They all walk in empty handed, and walk out with a range of different sized bags. Very strange, DP think they are dealing steroids! They are all bloody huge.

They dont bother us, they are careful when they drive up and down the street, so we just keep quiet. We will wave or whatever if we see them, They seem ok. Definitely something going on though.
Thanks for all your replies.

I have tried to google the address but it just comes up with a house profile (ie. land size, valuation etc).

They don't bother us mostly, but my main concern is if they are dealing drugs or whatever in their little shed out the back....what if they are making them? That is a very different story and it could make it dangerous for us (they have a little shed out the back that they have put up some wire around, so that is a bit concerening)
We had a ver similar situation. The house across from where we lived at the time was owner occupied. The lady got a new boyfriend & there were suddenly heaps of cars coming & going all day & night, same ones coming at the same time every day. They'd stay for a few minutes then leave with packages. DH took down rego numbers, got a list of about 12 & went to the local police station where he spoke to the Senior Sergeant. He handed her the list & she confirmed our thoughts, mentioning a lot of the number plates were already known to them. They raided the house about 3 weeks later after keeping tabs on them.

There were a couple gunfshots prior to the police raid too, so that really cemented that we needed to act as it was during the day & anyone could have been hurt, namely us.

Report them. The police do not divulge where they get their information.
