Help with Eczema Rss

I am a mum with an almost 2 year old boy who suffers from eczema. It is not as bad as some but still puts us through grief every time he goes into a sandpit, goes to Bunnings where it is very dusty, when it is hot, and millions of other reasons. Our doctor has prescribed advantan fatty ointment which has some cortizone in it. It is a great cream but I don't like to use it too much. I am after tips from other mums that help to ease the itchiness of eczema. I have tried pinetarsol, goats milk soap, baby oil, no soap, pure soap, sensitive wash powders/liquids etc etc. Some more help???

Us&Them

Hi there is a steroid free eczma cream you can get but I think its quite expensive as its just new out, not to sure what its called, ask at the chemist.
My daughter was perscribed hydrocortizan cream for her eczma but she only has small patches, I think its from dairy food.

Also try to keep the eczma covered so he doesnt scratch it and make it worse.

I hope your little boy gets some relief soon.

Hello,
Both my son and daughter suffer from eczema, we had allergy tests done to find his triggers which happen to be tomatoes and cow's (lucky we don't live on a farm!). The first thing that they say is to take them off cow's milk but it is not always the case, i would get a referal to an allergy specialist and get your son tested to find his triggers, now all we have to do is watch how many tomatoes our son eats, he can have 1 or 2 but if he has too many he flares up again. Good luck.
