overdue pregnancy - cervix closed Lock Rss

Hello Everyone

My sil's baby was due last week and I found out today her cervix is still closed

what does this mean in turns of the birth will it affect it at all?

I didn't go through a vaginal delivery so am not sure what it means

it means that she hasn't dialated at all and chances are that the baby isn't engaged, as for how it will affect the birth and that sort of thing it depends on how the midwives handle it! she can ask the midwives to do a cervical sweep on her and in most cases it will induce labour and help your cervix to dialate without the need to be induced! or she can do alot of pelvix excersises to help the baby engage and her cervix to dialate.
