Baby Not Sleeping during the day Lock Rss

I have a 7 week old baby who refuses to sleep during the day. I put him in his cot drowsy, and he will instantly be alert, looking around and talking to himself. He fights sleep the whole time, falling sleep and waking himself up as soon as his eyes close. It is almost like he doesn't want to miss out on anything. When he does fall asleep, after screaming for up to 30 minutes he will sleep for only 30 - 45 minutes, I than have to resettle which can take another 30 minutes. At times I rock him to sleep because he is so tired I can't settle him in his cot, as soon as I put him down he is awake and crying. It is like he doesn't like the cot at all and would prefer to sleep in my arms. I don't know what to do, it is starting to effect his night sleeping which has always been good.
Any ideas or suggestions would be appreciated.
Hi Tracey,

You would really benefit from the It’s time To Sleep program, using our settling techniques and following the feed /play/ sleep method would enure you know you are doing settling techniques that work.

You can get details for this on Your Baby’s Sleep page or From <a href="It's time to sleep</a"http://www.itstimetosleep.com/">It's Time To Sleep DVD&Book.

Best of luck, Maree

It's Time to Sleep

Thanks Maree,
I have put the settling program into action and he is starting to sleep during the day. I find though that he is waking every 10 or so minutes, I leave him for a while to see if he will settle himself. Most times he starts to cry and it takes me longer each time to resettle him. Do you have any suggestions to help with this?
Thanks
