Summary

A fun game that reinforces information they need to know to help the toilet training process.

As an adult, you know how hard it can be to answer a question with just “yes” or “no.” But for a child, it can really simplify things – and can be a fun game that reinforces information they need to know to help the toilet training process.

Sit your toddler down and tell them you are going to ask him questions and he can only say yes or no. The trick here is to throw in questions about toilet training, their bodies and hygiene with fun questions. For example:

  • Is the sky blue?
  • Do dogs meow?
  • Do we pee pee and poo poo in the toilet?
  • Can cars fly?
  • Do we wash our hands after we go toilet?
  • Do we throw food at dinnertime?
  • Is your hair purple?
  • Do your Pull-Ups® go up and down like your pants?
  • When you feel like you have to the toilet, you should just keep on playing?
  • Can apples talk?

To change the game, have the child hold a favorite stuffed animal, toy or other object. Each time he gives the wrong answer, he has to hand you the object. You hand it back with the next correct answer. Or, to make the game more active, have your child sit down every time he says “no” and stand up with every “yes.” This game is also fun done in reverse. Have your child as you the questions! Another option is to go back and forth taking turns asking each other a question. While your child will probably not think to include toilet training questions, you can slip them in during the game.
