summary:
It’s takes a while to cook (though easy to make!) but it’s worth it when the slow cooked goodness of the bacon is swishing around your belly. Get a big hunk of bread to soak up those juices.

Ingredients
- 1 bacon hock
- 2 carrots peeled and chopped
- 1 swede peeled and chopped
- 1/2 a pumpkin chopped up
- 1 onion chopped chunky
- 1 garlic clove
- 1 can of chick peas
- 1 parsnip chopped
- 2 potatoes peeled and chopped
- 2 kumara peeled and chopped
- 3 celery sticks chopped
- 1 pint of chicken stock
- Salt and pepper seasoning
- Finely chopped parsley
Instructions
- All popped into the slow cooker for approx 10 hours on low
- In the last two hours take the bacon hock out and cut the meat from the bone
- Place back into slow cooker and allow soup to thicken.
Yummy on a winters day served with whole grain bread =)
