Create a soft and safe indoor play space that’s perfect for crawlers and beginning walkers.
Now that your child is on the move, he’ll no doubt want to explore every nook and cranny of your home, unveiling hazards that you didn’t even know existed! You can support your child’s desire to discover (and his growing gross motor skills), while keeping him out of harm’s way, by creating a fun play area made entirely out of sofa cushions and pillows.
Par for the Course
- Gather assorted blankets, pillows, cushions and bolsters, and arrange in a room with plenty of play space that’s free of things that can fall on baby if nudged.
- Build hills to climb, tunnels to crawl through, and obstacle courses to traverse.
- Got a reluctant player? Placing favorite toys throughout the space may encourage him to move around more.
- As always, never leave your child unattended during playtime.
