Morning Puppet Power
Age: toddler, child
Skill for Bub: Hand/eye coordination, Just for fun
A brown paper bag and crayons keeps kids occupied during hectic breakfast times and before dinner.
Trying to keep hungry children patient while they are waiting to eat can sometimes be a recipe for disaster. Avoid mealtime melt-downs with this quick craft idea.
While they’re waiting for food, give each child his own paper sandwich bag. Get them started by showing them how to draw a simple face (two eyes, a nose and a mouth) on the overlapping flap (which forms the bottom of the bag when unfolded).
Let kids use crayons, markers, stamps, and stickers to decorate his paper bag pals. Then, show him how to slide his hand inside to bring his new paper puppet to life! For kids going off to pre- or grade school, let them use this bag to carry their lunches or snacks.
