Four animal-themed hats that are as much fun to make as they are to wear!

If your child enjoys dressing up, a collection of farm animal hats will be a welcome addition to her dramatic wardrobe. They’re great to make for Halloween or birthday parties, and she’ll no doubt adore helping you assemble them.

To Make a Pig-Theme Hat

  • Purchase a pink or white baseball cap.
  • Cut the pig’s snout and ears out of pink felt or construction paper.
  • Attach them to the hat with glue or double-sided tape above the brim.
  • Glue large googly-eyes on either side of the pig’s nose.
  • Fasten a curled pink pipe cleaner to the back of the cap.

To Make a Duck-Theme Hat

  • Purchase a yellow baseball cap. (The cap’s brim doubles as the duck’s bill.)
  • Glue large googly-eyes above the brim.
  • Glue a small tuft of white feathers to the top of the hat.
  • Glue a small tuft of feathers in a triangular form to the back of the hat.

To Make a Sheep-Theme Hat

  • Purchase a white baseball cap.
  • Glue cotton balls to the surface of the cap, leaving room for the eyes.
  • Cut two oblong ears out of black construction paper.
  • Glue large googly-eyes above the brim of the hat.

To Make a Rabbit-Theme Hat

  • Purchase a white baseball cap.
  • Cut the ears out of white felt or construction paper.
  • Cut the inside of the ears out of pink felt or construction paper.
  • Attach the ears to the cap with tape or glue. (You can also sew the felt ones on.)
  • Use a small pink pom-pom and black pipe cleaners as the nose and whiskers.
  • Glue large googly-eyes above the nose.
  • Glue a large white pom-pom or some cotton balls on the back of the cap to use as the tail
