SUDI is short for ‘Sudden Unexpected Death of an Infant’, also known as SIDS or ‘cot death’. It means the sudden, unexpected death of a baby from no known cause. It is still not clear what causes SUDI. Some factors are thought to work together to reduce the risk of SUDI, but they may or may not help prevent any one SUDI death. What is clear however is that the safety of your little one is paramount and in order to reduce the risk of SUDI it is vital to follow the safe sleeping recommendations from Change for our Children, to ensure they sleep safely.
