What used to be our rumpus room has gradually over the past months turned to be the playroom of our quick-growing baby who will turn 2 in two weeks time. She so loves to play so why her toys are multiplying quick too, and that’s also how the playroom was created… according to her play’s demands and have been arranged how she spends the day around it. What’s lovely on giving her toys or anything is the fact that she’s so appreciative with them & really spends well enough time with all of them with no fuss, she seems to love more the fact on how each of them shows her different ways to learn things. Someone said to us she finds it so fun how Belle scrutinizes her toy from front to back, head to toe like studying them to bits, and that was since she was still such a little baby. We see every single toy having special memories of her different stages of learning as a child from baby to toddler, may they be soft toys to musical, books, or puzzles. The room’s walls are simply picture frames, some are our family pictures and baby’s own pictures, but it’s amazing how she loves every little thing… that every time I change or add new photos in the frames… she notices them and points to them like when her Dad arrives from work as if telling him “look Mommy did something with our photo frames”. And she loves the angels and the flowers too, she keeps pointing to them with a smile. The windows are covered with these bright-coloured drapes (red and gold with flower prints). We’ve put a goldish-green-coloured cabinets to use around the room where we stored her photo albums and baby books (even pregnancy books) and all the other memorabilias from the hospital that we have when she was born, we also stock in there some of the toys we bought way in advance for her age. A little stereo has to stay there as she loves listening to music since she was a baby… I remember how she sleeps so soundly in the afternoon with the sound of nice mellow music, now she dances with the beat of music. There is a playpen which has been her favourite abode since 7 months old when she was yet learning to crawl and walk, but we probably could get rid of it now to have more space. We consider the tv to be part of her playroom as she also loves to watch her educational Baby Einstein dvds, now Little Einstein, Barbie, and other Disney dvds. Inside these cabinets underneath are her foods, biscuits, plates, bowls, cutleries and stuff. Her table and chair where she eats are also a nice apple-green colour which we chosed to match with the cabinets colour. Her high-chair is still within reach which we unfold from a corner whenever she prefers to be there when she eats, watch dvd, and at the same time play some toys or puzzles, she loves to multi-task. And her pink change mat is also just there when we need it in the midst of her busy day around. And of course her playroom couldn’t be complete without giving her a bookcase in it, much as she loves toys, movies, and music, she so much loves books too! She could spend the whole morning squatting in front of her bookcase and go through her books one by one, at times she comes to us and sit on either Mommy or Daddy’s lap to get us to read it to her. One of her toys that is still in the big brown box is her big doll house which we bought for her coming birthday, we definitely need another space for this additional member of her playroom. Some of her toys are from our friends and relatives. Her playroom is simple yet elegant, pleasant to the eye, clean, and ergonomic for her to play, grow, learn, and have fun.
