Almost everything in Savanah’s room has been handmade. I love making things and my husband is extremeley handy so we combined our skills and made some beautiful furniture and decorations for our daughters bedroom. I googled ideas on the internet and then my husband recreated the ones I had chosen and made them. We put our own spin on the designs to make them more individual and I really enjoyed decorating them all in matching colours and papers. We made her a little dollhouse bed, that fits her cot matress, adding our own special little touch with the thatched roof, picket fence, letterbox, steps and planterbox, complete with flowers. Her wooden tree with the little birdhouse and bird and owl sitting in the branches. I made her little lollypop flowers for her planter pot. Her name canvas and hairclip canvas. And her older sister made her dressing table. All her pieces incorporate the same picture designs with the caterpillar, bluebird, hearts and flowers. I was able to put them on her canvas, steps and planter box. I’ve also used the same scrapbooking papers on the leaves on her tree, and the 2 planter boxes so everything matches. I loved watching her bedroom take shape and turn into a beautiful little place that was created just for her, by the people who love her.
