Lila’s room was designed to use a small amount of space to it’s full potential – a combined change table/chest of drawers, a storage trundle under the cot, hanging space behind the door and bookshelves that can also take storage boxes – gives us lots of space for clothes, books and toys.

We didn’t know if we were having a boy or a girl at first and didn’t want the room to be too OTT so kept the walls a simple sunny colour and decorated with artworks from my favourite Children’s Illustrators. We also got a great Sun light fitting that creates a warm glow in the room when the light it turned on.

Once we found out we were having a little girl, we added accessories that reflected both our tastes (there are Disney things and pink things from Mum, Dinosaur things from Dad) and ended up with a room that we both loved.

Ultimately, we wanted the room to be comfortable and warm – a safe and happy place for us to enjoy with our little girl.
