When we found out we were expecting a baby boy I immediately began planning how to decorate his room.
I decided to go for a graphic style room with duck egg blue, black, white and red as the colours and animals as the main image theme. The high contrast colours and graphic shapes are interesting for Harper to look at, especially the ones above his change table and help him to learn to focus. I also made the mobile suspended above his cot from focus animal learning cards that I can alternate.
I spent a long time deciding all the details of his room- the lightshade which was my starting point, the right reds for the accessories, the furniture and how to store toys, linen, nappies and clothes in tidy way that is easy to access and keep organised.
The curtains are floor length to keep out draughts and block out all light, the lights are eco bulbs and are soft to avoid glare during night time feeding and changing. Inside the wardrobe are shelves for larger sized clothes, hooks for hanging and space for larger items such as the highchair.
We love his room and are glad of the time and care taken to make it unique for Harper.
