Should I see a doctor after I started bleeding at 6 weeks?

Hi Alex
Should i see a doctor after i started bleeding (like a period) at 6 weeks pregnant or will my body miscarry naturally. Is it likely i will need a d&c. With my first pregnancy at 16 weeks i had septaceamia with my first baby being born at 30 weeks with no complications.
Regards
Ella

Answer: Hi Ella,
More than likely your body will miscarry naturally. You may get some stronger cramps and heavier bleeding and then it will settle and the bleeding will ease at around one week. If cramping and heavy bleeding continues over two to three days or you have prolonged bleeding or your discharge is smelly you will need to see a GP for a check up.
Best wishes,
Alex
