Hi Alex
My name is Susan and i`m at the very beginning of my first pregnancy. I`m 36 years old (37 this January). I believe my conception date was 22 October, although the date of the first day of my last period was October 8. So i`m 4-6weeks pregnant?
Anyway, i have a few questions ...
1. My breasts have grown over night and are incredibly sore. I`ve never had very large breasts (12B). Does the fact that they have grown instantly mean that will be enormous by the end? My husband thinks it`s fabulous but I`m a little concerned!!
2. I am having very severe stomach aches and pains - like a really strong period pain but then making me feel like i need to go to the toilet. I have a lot of gas (what a horrible thing to tell you!) and the cramps are quite intense, day and night. I have cut out all cheese and oily/fatty foods which seemed to help a bit. Is this a `symptom` of early pregnancy or do i just have a tummy bug?!
Thanks so much for your help Alex.
Kind regards
Susie
Thank you for your enquiry. It is very common to have sore tender breasts in early pregnancy and they can grow in size too. This growth does not continue to be as obvious but your breasts will grow a bit more during the next months but they should not become enormous. The hormone changes in pregnancy can cause some changes to your bowel habits and some women do experience discomfort and cramping in the early weeks. The changes of early pregnancy can cause some concerns but they are very common and when you get into your second trimester things settle a bit.
Best wishes,
Alex.
