What date would you say is more correct?

Hi, my ? is about dates.
I had my 20 week ultra sound yesterday and the date is the 24th March. I guess they got this from my first ultra sound and matched with my age, baby size and blood test results. But the doctors due date is the 1st April from my last period. What date would you say is more correct? I know they can come 2 weeks prior/after the date and will happen when its wants to. Can you give me any insite into this?

Alex ...
Answer: Hi,
An expected date of birth is determined on an accurate last menstrual period date and ultrasounds to back this up. If you had regular periods and every 28 days before you were pregnant then the period date is the more accurate. If your period were irregular then it may not be as accurate. Ultrasounds are not quite so accurate as the measurements are taken from average measurements of babies at the same age.
Best wishes,
Alex.
