I retained a small part of the placenta
Hi,
I had an emergency c-section 8 weeks ago. 2 weeks ago I was sent for an ultrasound because I am still bleeding. The ultrasound show that I had retained a small part of the placenta. The doctor has written me a script for antibiotics but has said to take them only if I develop a fever. My bleeding has since settled down but I continue to have pain in my tummy. Will this affect my chances of concieving again? Any response would be great. Thank you for taking the time to read my question.

Hi,
Thank you for your enquiry. Usually your body does cope with this type of slight complication. It will not affect your fertility at all. If you do develop a fever or have continued pain you need to visit your GP for a check up.
Best wishes,
Alex.
