My blood pressure has been rising for some weeks now

hi i am 30 weeks pregnant and my blood pressure has been rising for some weeks now at what stage do the doctors consider it to be high and when will they intervene and what will happen with the baby if it is born now is it too soon to be born

Answer: Hi Tanya,
If you have straight forward high blood pressure in pregnancy then there is medication that can control your blood pressure. If you are developing pre eclampsia your baby may need to be born earlier. Once a baby is over 30 weeks there is a very good chance that your baby will have minimal complications if it is born early. Usually they may need some help with keeping warm, extra oxygen and feeding. He will need to be in a special care nursery for some weeks.
