What Is Swim For Life®?

Swim For Life has built on the successes of Water Safety New Zealand (WSNZ)’s Lotto Take The Plunge™ event in raising the awareness of the importance of learning to swim and created increased opportunities for New Zealanders to learn to swim. It is the national flagship for the promotion of this core-life skill required by all New Zealanders.

Purpose

Every New Zealand child by the age of 12 will be able to swim 200m confidently and competently with associated survival skills and understand key water safety messages.
