Halfway mark of 12WBT

Halfway mark of 12WBT

What an interesting couple of weeks it has been. Not only with 12WBT, but also at home. My family and I were decimated with an attack of gastro. I’ve never seen the horror movie “The Exorcist,” but I suspect it was probably something like that. It really knocked me and the kids for six, but we seem to be recovering ok.

I was worried about how that would affect my fitness but thanks to the support and reassurance of the lovely crew on the forums, I started back gently and seem to be doing ok.

So halfway through 12WBT I am just over 4kg down and several centimetres lost which is great. However, the biggest things has been learning new things about nutrition, and getting access to some great new recipes. My family have loved the menu and it has been a welcome change from the rut I was stuck in when it came to food preparation time.

It’s created a fun time in terms of exercise as well. The kids have all been joining in the exercise DVD’s and telling me “You missed one mum!” if I don’t quite get all the sit ups and push ups done.

Being consistent and sticking with the programme when I haven’t lost the weight I had hoped or I “just don’t feel like it” has really helped me develop some much needed self discipline. I am also having way too much fun joining in the Perth Crew activities like boxing and beach training.

I am in AWE of some of the ladies on the forums who have been making amazing progress with 12WBT. On days where I am maybe not feeling it, I stick my head in there and read the threads. It’s enough to kick me back into gear.

So I am now at the halfway mark. I can’t wait to see what the next 6 weeks brings!
