Water Safety New Zealand (WSNZ)

Water Safety New Zealand recommends Huggies Little Swimmers® swimpants to all parents of babies and young children, to help ensure a clean, safe and fun summer season at the swimming pool or the beach!

It is important to learn basic water skills as early as possibly. Beyond bath-time, the joy of water discovery starts for children in toddler pools. Children can take part in water activities from the age of 6 months. That means you can start having fun with your little one earlier!

Huggies Little Swimmers® and WSNZ understand the benefits of young children becoming familiar and confident in the water, and are working together to encourage parental involvement in their children’s aquatic education from an early age because:

  • The earlier you start this process the easier it will be for the child to learn to swim when they reach the appropriate age
  • Provides health benefits for your child which builds confidence, develops social skills and aids muscle development
  • Encourages the invaluable bonding experience between parents and their children

WSNZ reminds parents about their role in water safety, parents must always supervise children near water. Always.
