Hi,
I'm a 35 year old mother of a 34 month old girl conceived naturally. This time around we have been trying for nearly 2 years. Had endometriosis which was taken out last year. Now we are in the unexplained category. Have just started my first ivf cycle. Came off the pill yesterday and have been on the nasal spray for 1 week. Go for a down reg scan next tues and hopefully can start the injections next week.
What are the chances that I will conceive 1st time around? Would love some feedback as I'm starting to stress this won't work.

Hi Amanda and welcome to our thread! I'm Jen, 39 with 2 DS. DS1 was conceived naturally, DS2 was IVF. My tubes blocked after having DS1 and so after over a year of TTC naturally, we tried IVF and were very fortunate to have a BFP on our first try.
It can, and does happen that it works first time around. Not for everyone of course, but I wanted to give you a good story so that you know that it could happen for you too.
How are our pregnant ladies going? Chris, your symptoms all sound very good! All my best wishes for your scan, it will be so exciting to see that little heartbeat
Westygirl, good luck for EPU! It is nerve wracking but so worth it, I hope it all goes well for you.
Must go, take care all, Jen x

Hi again ladies,
I need some advice! I am about to have scan number 4 on friday, EPU seems to have moved further and further back, I have lots of follicles, but my doc seems to think they are too immature, is it normal to have that happen? He has upped my dose to 150 for the last two days and i am so painfully uncomfortable!
He also said that he is airing on the side of caution not upping my dose too high as i have PCOS signs ......... not the full blown syndrome but some signs........first ive heard of it!!!
I think i just need assurance that this is perfectly normal!
Thanks!

Chris, sounds like things are progressing well, not long till your scan, the bled must have given you a massive scare, so glad you are ok.
Kylie, I am going back to work full time for 3 months at least, as I have to due to receiveing 12 weeks mat pay(need to work for 3 months to keep it)DH is going to be the child carer for 3 days a week and child care for 2 days(that is a worry, I cant see much house work getting done).
Westygirl, it sounds like your dose was not high enough, and has now been corrected,if you are really uncomfortable, could be a good sign the follies are growing, keep us informed, hopefully not to long now.
Amanda, well Jen, conceived first time and so did a girl I work with, for me it took 6 goes, three stim cycles, it is hard to know, but stay positive.
Hi Leena, I remember you giving birth recently, welcome back..
Hi Julie, Jen ,Cheryl and Karynne, hope you are all well.

Hi girls
Amanda welcome, I have been on many IVF sites and there are plenty of stories of girls who have 1 natural and then 1st cycle of IVF they have their 2nd but sadly there are some who take a few more cycles is all you can do is try and hope. You can try to relax but you probably won't just try not to stress too much or look too far ahead, each step you get too is one step closer.
I've done 11 cycles 7 to have DS and 4 for this pregnancy but I've always looked at each cycles as having a 50/50 chance, I'm over 40 so according to figures my chances are lower. I was always unexplainedn fertility like many of us.
Westygirl I know quite a few people who have had there EPU date pushed back for the same reason, alot of FS like to start people on a lower dose until they see how your body reacts, I think they like to have most follies around a certain size, I always just trusted my FS and hoped he would do the best thing to get me pregnant.
Carolyn must be hard going back to work guess at least bub doesn't have to go into daycare full time.
I'm putting DS into limited hours care just a few hours one day a week, mainly so he can mix with other kids and have time apart from me, also give me a time where I can book appointments without having to take him with.
Karynne, Julie, Jen, Cheryl and Sarah hope all your bubs are doing well, sorry if I missed anyone, there are a few that pop in.
Tina and Christina hope your pregnancies are going well.
Just realised we have Christina, Tina and Chris all pregnant in here (my real name is Christina some people call me Tina and some Chris)
well less than a week to go till my scan just want to know if all is good, eating so much yesterday I couldn't stop eating chocolate today part of me wants to eat lots of chocolate and the other part is like No don't eat it it will make you sick.......when I was pregnant with DS I would be in the supermarket and part of me would want a Picnic and the other part a pepermint crisp so I use to have both.
I should be having a nap but I'm enjoying the quietness, no-ones playing music, mowing or banging its so peaceful here today.

Hi Girls,
Looks like everyone is keeping well...good to hear. Welcome along to our thread Amanda. You'll love chatting on here. The girls are the BEST!
In relation to EPU being pushed back....it happened to me on every cycle. Its amazing what technology can do now. I used to ovulate naturally on about day 12. By this stage doing IVF my eggs would be too immature so the doc would give me drugs to stop ovulation and gives the eggs/follicles the time they need to develop. I usually had EPU around day 17-19. Don't worry about any changes the doctors do....I just left it in their hands and went with the flow. Sometimes its not worth worrying about. Good things come to those who wait anyway
As for me.....I'm still enjoying my time off with Callum. I was offered to go back to work next week but I can't get daycare until July and I have lots coming up in the next month or two.....whilst the money would be good I don't want to regret missing this stage of his life.
Callum is about to start crawling and is doing the whole crouching tiger thing....he's also developed a new laugh which is kind of cross between bevis and butthead and Mr Burns off the Simpsons. Its a bit wicked actually.
Have christening for Callum to organise. Date is set for 18 April so only a month away. Looking forward to that.
Before I go...hope your keeping well Chris. How are you feeling. Keep me posted with everything. Its going to go soooo quick.
Well enjoy your weekend ladies and will catch up soon.

Hi Everyone
Julie sounds like you are very busy 18th of April will come round quick, it is good being able to stay at home with bub, I often think the money would be good but I would miss so much. I know some people don't have the choice.
Looking forward to putting DS in care for a few hours on Monday hopefully he will be ok so I can just get a really good hair cut, its hard when I don't really have anyone that can watch him even for a few hours and there is only a very small window of time that he will sit in the stroller without it moving.
Just realised I'm 7 weeks tomorrow hopefully all is going well, boobs are a little sore they must be changing as DS will gently touch then and then use them as a pillow. Have a horrible taste in my mouth today like I just want to keep brushing my teeth and still really tired.
well just a few days to go till the scan
hope everyone has a great weekend, its raining her again....wish the wet season would come to an end.

Hi Ladies,
First of all, congratulations to those ladies with their BFPs. As a beginner IVFer, it is very comforting to see. Chris, I am especially happy for you. i am so glad you went ahead with your cycle, and am so happy to see you have a bubba cooking away!
So today, I am on cycle day 1 of my very first IVF cycle. I have just forked out my lifesavings over the phone :S... I begin the pill on Friday, and I guess it's all on from there for a while.
I was asked to wait another month last month and I thought it would damn near kill me, but I am here and ready to start, finally. I gave it one last final shot, and after 22 months I am well ready. (I feel a little like Genna in the TTC March thread to find myself a little shocked to see someone who was ttc when we with us some time ago, had their baby and were back and ready to ttc another. And here we are still trying for #1... Happy for them, but gee it's hard!)
I have two weeks of the pill, so I guess I will try and enjoy the lull and the small break from ttc... I really hope this works for me.
I look forward to sharing this journey with you all. I would love to join the BFP list on this thread someday down the track.
I hope everyone has a great week!
Meg.

Hi Ladies
Im back on this site after a while being off. I use to be called Blueyes on the forum. I couldnt remember my log in etc so had to resign up. I use to live on the Northern Beaches in Sydney, my husband and i moved up to QLD in Jan this year for a new start and be able to afford to buy a house. We have found a block of land up the sunny coast in Mountain Creek settles in may/june then will start building straight away, so that's pretty exciting.
My name is Kylie, husband name is Paul. we are both 35 this year. Been TTC for over a year. I had a laparoscopy done because i had unexplained infertility with a sydney fertility clinic and then when i moved up here the new fertility clinic (City Fertility) wanted to do a laparoscopy for endometriosis. I had it mild but has apparently damaged/blocked my tubes but my uterus is in perfect condition which is a positive. The dr said he would be surprised if a miracle happened without ivf with my tubes the way they are.
SO....Here i am...about to start my first round of IVF. My period is just starting to come today so tomorrow will be day 1 and i start my nasal spray on day 2 then my injection on day 3. Im really scared that im not going to do it all right or i want get many eggs. Im on the lowest dose of injection (75). so hopefully that will be enough to produce lots of folicles. I really hope the first round works. but if not then i just really hope we get a few embryos to freeze and use the second round and then we get to put 2 embryos in second round, i like the 2 to 1 chance better. Twins...we would love to have! anyway that's about all i can think of saying at the moment. Would love to have you girls with me along the way for support and encouragement i know you all share with each other. Look forward to chatting to you all. x Kylie x

I have my scan tomorrow looking forward to it not too nervous but really hoping all is good.
Did another POAS yesterday still 2 dark lines I know it doesn't mean much but it made me feel better, lucky the positive line wasn't faint or I would have freaked out.
Long drive tomorrow so not sure if I will get time to post when I get home if not will post the news on thrusday.

CONGRATULATIONS IAHR!!!
A beautiful little girl!!! I LOVE her name! I'm so happy for you and your family, congratulations again! xxxxx
So much has been going on, 3ppl starting/in a cycle, 2ppl pregnant, and 1 new baby!! Not to mention 2 christenings. Maybe I should tell hubby its time to sell some shares so I can join in on the fun?
To those that are new, welcome and GOOD LUCK!!! 3 more pregnancies would be fantastic!!
Chris, it's going to kill us waiting for your news! LOL i'll be waiting with baited breath!
Carolyn I've seen some boys in little white shiny suits (i have NO idea about fabric types sorry) they reminded me of a sailor suit, without the contrast piping and that funny tie some of them have..
Nothing new going on here, I'm starting to think about Sarah's 3rd birthday(i cant believe she'll be 3 soon) and she has her uniform fitting for school next yr these april holidays
On the up side she talks non stop and constantly comes up and tells me she loves me which I love hearing
though if she doesnt want to be touched or kissed for whatever reason and you do it anyway, she'll wipe over where you've touched her and she'll say 'no I dont want you on me' ROFWL I still love her to bits!
Nice to meet all the new people, sounds like the next 6wks-ish are going to be busy!!!
Love to all
Kylie

Well must go, just wanted to check on Chris, and now I am going to feed Mason and have a glass of wine, as it is our wedding anni, but DH is away for work, (a bit sad, but at least I have Mason to cuddle)
