Young babies & Childcare Rss

I just need to let this out so feel free to ignore the first part and skip to the second paragraph. I'm feeling absolutely horrible doing it but DD2 (9 weeks) will be in CC 2 days a week (possibly more) as of next week due to my uni commitments. She is attending a wonderful centre and I know most of the carers as DD1 went there from 6 months but it's still really worrying me putting her in so young. I'm really getting mummy guilts over this one. I am doing it so I can get a degree and work to give my kids the best life but it's still so hard when they are so young.

Anyway has anyone returned to work/ study whilst still breastfeeding? I'm planning on expressing as much as possible but i'm wondering how well this works and if i'm destined to fail lol. I currently have no problems expressing so that isn't an issue but I worry I won't have time to express and my supply will go out the window. For those expressing at work/ uni what kind of pump did you use? I have an Ameda electric pump which can be used with batteries but considering i'll probably be expressing in toilets or the car i'm wondering if maybe I should get a manual one as the electric does make some noise. What does everyone think?
I don't really have any advice but what you are feeling is normal. And you would probably feel this way if DD was 9 weeks or 9 months or 9 years!
Remember it is really only a few hours- and as you said you are doing it to build a better life for your children. Thats a great thing!

Just a though- is the childcare on campus? Or nearby? If you have a lunch break could you go and feed her?

As for your other questions I have no advice! I couldnt express if my life depended on it!

I hadn't thought about feeding her in between classes if I have time but that's a great idea. It isn't on campus but it is very close to the uni (can see the uni from the childcare centre).
Hi,
Ask around at your uni, I know at ours they have designated rooms for mothers that want to breastfeed their babies on campus. If they don't have those then try asking the health & well-being centre on campus (if you have one) if they can lend you a room. Ours are only too happy to help.
