In search of a new car... Rss

I'm trying to decide on a new car that can fit 3 carseats/capsules and have large boot space.

DH and I have also been looking into 7/8 seaters.
I'm due with babies 2 & 3 in several weeks and we haven't decided if they will be our last so a larger car would be nice..

It needs to have a nice large boot for a twin pram... And room for shopping would be nice too tongue

Thanks in advance. smile

Cant go past a territory. I have twins and there is heaps of room in the territory. I used to have my niece from time to time and the 3 car seats fit eaisly. The boot space is fantastic. I could get the twin pram, 2 portacots, the highchairs (ikea ones pulled apart) luggage and the dog (bullmastif).

Yep love my Territory tooo...... smile
I agree. We recently bought a Territory, love it! Lots of room smile
My camry has a bug boot if your looking for a sedan. It can take three car seats and they attach to the bench across the back window so its easy to do.
We have a imax, Im pregnant with number 3, and it has a HUGE boot, and lots of space.

I'm another territory lover smile
It is the best car we have ever owned, and I dont think I will ever own anything but a territory now.Ours is a 7 seater and when you dont need the extra seets, they fold away easily into the boot
Test drive one and see how you like it.
The Kluger is great! Also comes standard with reversing camera which is a great safety feature.
Commodores are also good.

We have a commodore wagon which fits 3 seats in.

We are having two "take 1" dicky seats by retro seating fitted in the rear for friends etc. They fold up onto wheel hubs/windows like a 4wd one so take up no boot room when not in use
we also have a commodore wagon (vy) got it off a family friend, she had 4 kids, 3 in car seats and she loved the space! It had dicky seats but she sold them separately as we had no need for them. even with one seat down the others folded it had plenty of room for the double pram plus groceries. We have a patrol as a second car, it is deffinately the favourite, heaps of room for everything and super comfy for long drives...its just sooo big! its been customised quite a bit for off road and can be a pain in car parks etc. (its a few inches wider and taller then standard)
we have a tarago and it is fantastic to drive. easily fits 3 car seats across and lots of space in the back. fuel efficiant and easy to drive.

we have a simple ford falcon stationwagon, fits three seats and they are easy to fit (no stupid anchor points on the roof like alot of stationwagons) and we fit the double pram if fine with loads of room to fit shopping even with our spare tyre in the boot! (we have LPG so the tyre cant go in the floor) and we generally do huge shops smile id say the only downfall is lack of guest seating but i think you can put those fold down seats in if its engineer approved.
I think the Honda accord euros/odyssey r good otherwise mazdas, volkswagen, toyotas and subaru's r good cars too.

Thank you everyone for the replies. smile
DH and I have been browsing the past few days at various cars and I'm liking the look of a Ford territory..

Others on our list are a Toyota torago, Captiva 7, Station wagon & Mazda cx-9..
Just looking at the Honda Odyssey online, it doesn't look too bad either.. smile

Any more suggestions and opinons muchly appreciated. smile

Thanks again.

We have a land cruiser prado, love it, will never buy a different car now. We did think about territory's too, my best friend has one, but we are Holden people so just couldn't do it. Toyotas never die, and prados are just so nice, very very popular around here.

I am preg with number 5 and drive a tarago and a 100series landcruiser. The kids love driving in the tarago as there is heaos of room. The anchor points are niftyly set to the actual seat soo you can still slide them forward to access the rear seats. the newer model have a secret compartment in the boot where the spare wheel is so you can put extra shopping in there. if you arent using the rear seat they fold up and there is ample boot room. I usually just plonk shopping if its not a big shop on the floor around the kids as there is soo much room.
The only thing i dont like is I have the 4cyl and wish i opted for the 6cyl. just a bit more power- depends where you drive i guess- i live rural and have to go up some big hills.
I prefer to drive my 100series as its turbo good up the hills- kids like sitting in it unless in the rear seats. Its fine when they are little but i wouldn't like to be an adult in there- no leg room. This is a problem with alot of the 7 seaters like the territory etc but for little ones no worries. I love the territories but having older kids now it wouldnt be suitable.

hope this helped....

we have a ford territory with 2 safe and sound maxi rider and a safe and sound meridan and they fit perfectly. Also have a steelcraft strider plus with toddler seat that fits in the back with more than enough room for anything else. Can I add though go for the 7 seater as its much better...

Good luck
