Mr. Small has a birthday soon. I’m actually very excited about it as last year was a real fizzer. Mr. Large suffered an outbreak of swine flu just prior to Mr. Small’s birthday.

I know what you mean i had just delivered my second son and the inlaws decided to give me swine flu as a present. So lucky my new born had all my goodness, i just had to worry about myself my 3yo, my dad that was visiting. My husband and mum got symptoms but didn't get bowled over like me and my dad who has diabetes. I hope u have a great party, we will be celebrating on the 15th too, with everyone healthy i hope!!

How thoughtful of the inlaws! That must have been really scary. Hope you have a great party this year to make up for it. x
I combined my 2 year old and 4 year old daughters party this year (conveniently their birthdays are 2 weeks apart). I pretty much knew my 2yo wouldn't know the difference and my 4yo peace-making angel was happy to 'share' the limelight. I have to admit that I did have a lot of fun doing a 'Wiggles' theme, and I know my 4yo loved it too. I even surprised her with one of those expensive pinatas. But, I'm going to stick to my 'rule' that they have a party every 2nd year (despite my mum reminding me that I got a party every year as a kid!!!). Not sure how long the 'combined' party thing will last though! I've written more about all the party fun at my blog, and I hope other mums can enjoy my story at www.evimums.com.au/kirrily
my son didnt know anything and didnt care about his first birthday but loved the attention and for his 2nd birthday he had more fun playing with his train and eating ice cream but he turns three this year so who knows he might catch on as we have to celebrate 5 other peoples birthdays in the house before we get to his, (2 down already another 3 to go). I doubt my daughter who turns 1 will care all that much as she would just want the food we are all eating then anything else.
