All day sickness
Im 13weeks and iv still got crazy morning sickness well all day sickness. I never actually vomit but the nausea is awfull. Im finding it hard to eat anything, the smell of food cooking makes me gag. Iv gone off all the foods I used to love and am currently living on bread and cheese. On the plus side iv lost 4kgs but I feel horrible. I didnt have any morning sickness with my first child which was a boy so prehaps this baby is going to be a girl? I find my nausea worse at night usually at around bed time then I cant get to sleep so I lie awake doing the deep pregnancy breathing whilst i hover over a bucket expecting this time will be the one when I actually vomit. Ahhh good times im kinda not wanting anymore kids after this one lol
Hopefully it eases up for you soon.
I'm still sick pretty much every day.. it's a rare day indeed that I don't have my morning heave. I was like this with DD and DS - right up til the moment they injected me with Maxalon in the delivery room :S
Plus side was I lost roughly 20kgs with both of them. Down side was I put it all on again! lol
I've been eating quite averagely this pregnancy so I wonder if I will have lost any weight.. hope so! lol
I found that sipping on Berocca helped me a little. You can get these things called Sea Bands from chemists - they press on pressure points in your wrist which can help with motion or morning sickness.
You could also try acupuncture.
Could also get some ginger and cut about 5 thin slices and add them to boiling water and sip that slowly too.
Other than that - eat whatever you think you can stomach - even if it's junk, it's still something in your stomach which can help you feel better.

I had the same thing for a couple weeks and it's awful sad it makes you feel so crappy.... but as JennaJ said the best thing you can do is eat something, no matter what it is, as I found that an empty stomach was the worst thing for the nausea. And also try to plan your day with what you might eat if you can, try not to let yourself get hungry. Honestly I think I lived on dry biscuits, bread, vegemite, hot chips and some fruit.
Hopefully it passes for you like it did for me smile

Good luck this is my third pregnancy and am at 33 weeks and I heave almost everyday of each pregnancy. I find a whiff of smells can set me off and it doesn't have to be a repulsive smell it can be anything, sometimes bub must be pushing up or something - who knows it just doesn't seem to take much.
Sea bands do help a little but I've just had to get used to puking.
Practice your pelvic floor exercises otherwise when the really bad heaves take you, you run the risk of weeing yourself as well.
The joys of motherhood.

Morning
I am exactly the same =(....
I am 14 weeks and still have disgusting morning/night/lunch sickness and mine is the same not actually throwing up just feeling like you have had a massive night out the night before (this is how I described it my friends who thought I was whinging about nothing cos I wasn't actually throwing up)...
I agree with the other ladies, as hard as it is try and eat something....anything. At the very beginning I lived on fruit and bread for about 6 weeks...(lots of grapes and watermelon)
I have now been talked into getting the motion sickness wrist bands and I find them to be working...could be worth a go (anything is worth a go at this point....)
Hope it eases up for you....the joys of pregnancy =)

so i did have some of those motion sickness bands but id slightly lost them i hunted around and found them. Iv managed to narrow things down a bit i can eat the most at breakfast but never the same thing twice so once iv eaten cornfakes for example i cant ever eat them again and the thought of them makes me feel sick. If I dont have something for tea before 5pm then I cant have tea cuz from bout 5.30pm onwards I feel nausous till morning thats when its the worst. Iv been wearing the moton sickness bands at night and accidently slept with them on one night when i woke up they had cut off my circulation and my hands were numb lol. Im going to the midwife next week and am guna complain to her cuz its not getting better as such. Id say that cuz I dont actually vomit i dought she would give me anything.

The motion sickness bands are working for me - my MS has all but disappeared. I'm only taking them off to shower. I did have acupuncture on my MS points in the wrist before I decided to buy the sea sick bands. I walked into the acupuncture office worried about leaving my sick bowl in the car and 10mins later nausea was totally gone. If the bands are too tight perhaps you should consider a session.
I had severe all day sickness with my 1st till 18wks so I'm doing everything to avoid it this time, eating every 2hrs even though I don't really feel like I want more food..but it's really important not to let your stomach completely empty.
Hope you get some relief soon.

I had constant vomiting for the first 5 months of pregnancy with DS. Nothing worked, I lost 17kg and ended up having to go into the Mercy every second day to go on a drip to rehydrate me, plus have IV Maxalon.
Try asking your GP / OB for some Maxalon tablets - they will kill the nausea and are safe to take during pregnancy.
Hope things get better honey!

with my first i had all day sickness with actual vomiting and then the dry reaching part. it lasted 13 weeks and then i was totally fine and heaps of energy. i had a boy.
this time round i felt sick but wasnt actually sick. but this time im now 19 weeks and no energy with still feeling sick to boot. the slighest smell sets me off and i feel totally pathetic. i cant even stomach the thought of having a rubbish bag inside anymore. dont even get me started on the thought of public toilets - just cant do it.
cant wait till this passes.

Hi, I am so glad there are so many of you out there that have all day sickness, I am 7 weeks and have had enough of this yuck feeling all the time. I can't even stand the smell of Air Freshners and trying to find something to eat that I actually want is near impossible. Will this pass and when does anyone know.
Its ment to improve by about 13weeks, but just not for me lol. We are currently staying with my inlaws on a farm, they have cooked home kill sheep for the last few days and it stinks out the entire house, I actually havent eaten anything at all for 2 days im living on lemonade. And then my father inlaw was telling me if i was a ewe i would either eat or die, he is a lovely man lol. I know people say ya should force yourself to eat but the thought of it just makes me feel worse.

I'm 7 weeks into my 2nd pregnancy and I hope like crazy that my morning sickness eases at the 12-13 week mark but it probably won't was still vomitting the day I gave birth with my first.
I've found ginger beer to be helpful and living on dry crackers. Two minute noodles are quick and easy and as gross as this is, are nice and gentle on the way back up if you can't keep them down. Chocolate is also good.

hi im on baby number 3 and at 31 weeks pregnant theres not a day go by that i dont vomit despite being on 4 different anti vomit tablets/injections, had the same thing with the other 2 and i currently have one of each. but trust me its worth it all at the end other wise i wouldnt be here with number 3 and discussing with hubby when number 4 should be planned, we always wanted 4. once bubs is born and you are holding them in your arms you forget all of the hard ships of pregnancy, and just relish the wondourous experience that is your own little person.
all the best
all the best
Im 6 and a half months pregnant...and still being sick. Ewwww i remember that heavy nauseous feeling (i found it worse than throwing up, because when you throw up its a little relief from feeling sick...for a little while anyways).
Ive tried everything that has been recommended to me or i have researched to try, and have also seen specialists and have tried all sorts of medications etc. the only thing that kinda helps for me personally is iceblocks:) Its a momentary relief...but i found it better than none at all. Ive eaten about 5 today lol. I usually go for lemonade or fruju's. Good way to get some kind of fluid into you when thats hard to get down. Or ice cold water was good. Had to be very very cold, otherwise i'd throw it up also.

i would highly suggest talking to your midwife and not putting up with it i had severe nausea for the first 4 months of my pregnancy before i said anything to my mw about it cause i had the same fears as you guys as soon as i told her she gave me maxilon and i tell you what now i cant imagine not taking it i wasnt able to eat for 4 months cause i was repulsed by food and couldnt move off the couch or bed i had no energy and i just drank heaps of lemonaide and motion sickness. i had it very rotten and i lost weight
i highly recommend talking to your ob or your midwife about maxilon its perfectly safe and it makes the world of difference. now i regret not going to it earlier and suffering for so long cause its not just the physical it also gets to you mentally.
i dont want to have thoughts like im not doing this again and getting fustrated at myself for not being able to eat or go places like a normal person its better to look after yourself now than let it get worse.

Ive been having really bad nausea for my entire pregnancy and I've only thrown up once. I'm almost 30 weeks and its just as bad as it was at day 1.
I talked to my Dr and got the maxolon tablets but, just my luck, they don't work for me. A lot of the time food makes it worse so some days i just give up and live off water.
Can't wait til the end of it....

yeah well definetely speak to your doctor cause i only vomited a few times i dry renched most and thats far worse at least when you vomit you get it out. if maxilon doesnt work i also went on zofran thats worked really well too
best thing to do is just to talk to your doctor about it and dont suffer i know how you feel.
Hi all, Just a warning to all , Maxalon is great but the problem with it is that you can become immune to it. i am a nurse who gets really bad hyperemesis, and at the start of this pregnancy got my doc to write me up for maxalon, which didnt work and i ended up in hospital with a ruptured abdominal muscle and acute renal failure, anyways if its not working for you get the docs to write you up for Ondansetron, technichally its a chemo drug but works great for morning sickness and if you get a hospital script and filled at the local hospital pharmacy instead of a private pharmacy its a lot cheaper,as this drug is fairly new and hasnt been subsidised for anyone but cancer pts. anyway its all worth it in the end.

Hi all,
Ondansetron was a life saver for me...The only thing that worked...I lost 16kgs in 6weeks was in hospital about 3 times on drips as i couldnt even keep a sip of water down..The WORST feeling in the world...I really felt like i was going 2 die...I threw up all day every day and night (got NO sleep cos i was constantly vomiting) until i took Ondansetron then at about 15weeks just completely stopped vomiting and felt great the rest of my pregnancy and now I have a very healthy beautiful baby girl..
Good luck ladies
When I was pregnant with my first child, I was so sick I couldn't even keep down water. I tried evrything I could think of, and ginger just made it worse. I ended up having acupuncture. After my first visit, I could finally eat again, not much but it still felt better, and after 3 visits I felt fantastic. Thankfully second time round I wasn't as sick, and just watched what I ate.
ondanestron is great it is a lifesaver its just another brand name for zofran as well. bbut there not on the pbs and when you go to your local pharmacy its not cheap about $40 for 4 tablets....

I also suffered form severe morning sickness(HYPEREMESIS) with each of my pregnancies. I vomited up to 15 times day and night for 27wks with the first & 25wks with the second.I tried ginger, maxalon to no avail then was put in hosp on drip which helped and went on ondanzetron(zofran) which also helped a little but it didn't stop it completely. I agree you need to eat even though you dont feel like it, clix biscuits worked for me and small sips of blackcurrant juice. It may not seem like it but once you hold your beautiful baby you will agree it is worth it!
I hear you all. I suffered hyperemesis with my DS. It was hideous.
I didn't vomit b/c the specialist said there was nothing left to vomit up b/c I didn't eat or drink.
I was like a PP. I lived on the couch and in bed for months, except when I was in hospital on a drip!
maxalon and stemitel did nothing for me. Ondansetron relieved the nausea some of the day.
For those of you who have had more children - well done.
My DS is 3 and we are only just now TTC, because it has taken me this long to be ready for it ! The specialist says chances are it will happen again.
I feel like vomitting just from reading the posts and thinking about my other pregnancy.
So if you feel hideous - get help ! Because it does affect you mentally.
Sorry for long rant ;-0

I totally agree it affects you mentally. I have always wanted about 3 or 4 kids and after my pregnancy I am soooo scared too get pregnant again. i know that sounds selfish but I cant imagine doing that again...Hopefully in the future my mindset changes and we can have another baby.
I am 14 weeks tomorrow and I still have all day sickness, this is My first child.
I cant stand smells of food, perfumes, drinks, flowers or even grass.
I get that bad from gagging that I actually do vomit.
And it is the worst feeling in the world =
I cant eat anything, I am lucky to keep down 1 meal a day.
I have found sarsparilla, lucozade and tropical juice is the best thing for Me.
The doctors put Me on maxolon 3 times a day to help Me, the days I do take it, I only need one and it lasts Me all day and I can get 2 meals down and keep them down.
I hope Your all day sickness goes away soon.

I have got hyperemesis too, its horrible. By 8 weeks I was vomiting all day everyday. I went to quite afew doctors and got perscribed with atleast 6 (safe) anti nausea medications that i found didnt work. Not even maxalon injections or tablets worked. The usual ginger tablets didnt work for me either. I spent afew hours at the doctors on a drip because i got so dehydrated at one piont. By 10 weeks I was addmitted to hospital and put on a drip over night. Then an obstatrician perscribed me with anti nausea tablets that i can only get through the hospital (Ondansetron). I know how it feels to be stuck on the couch for two or three months!
Im 28 weeks now and I still throw up every morning but atleast now I can take 1 zofran in the morning and then actually get out during the day without being sick.
Hope you feel better soon!
