Did this make u feel uncomfortable? Did you discuss this before hand? Were you ok with your partner looking at that very moment?
Whose partner 'looked'
So I am wondering whose partner 'looked' down there as your baby was being born?

Mine did! He didn't really have a choice as with our first I had one foot pushing on his upper arm and my other foot on the ob.s upper arm (me lying on my back with my feet up on them) so unless he closed his eyes it was kinda hard not to see!
Second was a caesar so no and third was a homebirth (unplanned) and he was standing at the foot of our bed discussing what to do with the ambos. So he saw some but as it started happening he came up next to me on the bed.
Nope! Didn't ever really think about it, so we didn't discuss it prior. Doesn't bother me at all.
Yes of course.I didnt care who looked lol i was pre occupied.
Yup mine did even though he said he wouldn't. A few days after I gave birth he came up to me with a worried look on his face and said "you know a lot of stuff came out of you" hahaha smile

That oarticular part i felt was MY moment alone when birthing the children. I did not want anyone (except midwives of course) down that end of me. With my first labor, my mum tried to have a look and thank gosh my sister was there to tell her off! (I didnt have a partners for that birth)
My second birth though, yes my partner looked. And that only happened because the head crowned while still driving in the car so he looked down there when i said i was pushing because i dont think he entirely believe me. Couldn't doubt when he saw the top of the head sticking out. He did it out of sheer fear the poor guy. It was NOT a good first birth for him. Lmao.
But, if you want your partner to see that and want to see it yoursel go for it. No problem at all i think.
I'm just not the sort of person even when not in labor that i spread my legs for everyone to see. Other than the people that HAVE to during labor.

nah he didn't, as I was pushing the midwife was like do you want to see to him, and we both go NO, my mum saw and my friend who was our support person saw but we had decided beforehand that he wouldn't. He'd talked to a few guys who had had babies and got their thoughts as they did look. We decided it wasn't needed for us to have him looking. plus he was busy dabing my head and giving me water.
My DH is not very good with needles, blood, etc - as in last time he had to give blood he fainted! So yes we discussed it beforehand and I'd told him "don't look down there"!!
I didn't want anyone to look prior to labour and imagine myself in a nightie and with a sheet covering down there. WELL...I ended up giving birth naked, DF, my mum and of course the midwife saw it all and I couldn't have given 2 hoots. Honestly there could've been 50 people there for all I cared laugh
Mine did. We never spoke about it before hand but once in the delivery room my midwife also asked DH if he wanted to help deliver bubs. He felt so proud to have been fortunate enough to do this. He literally held and guided baby our.
my partner had a quick peek during the caesarean. apparently I looked like an "expensive steak" tongue
Yes mine did smile
I had a plan that i was going to deliver ds in clothes haha i ended up naked unsure
In the room i had dh and my mum, my sister was there for the first part but when i started pushing she wanted to wait out side.
My mum and dh were up near my head honlding my hands but the midwife asked if they wanted to see. My mum was crying and telling me ds was beautiful when he was only crowning LOL laugh
Dh i think was a little shocked, he couldn't beleive it ds was coming out of there. Poor guy!
My poor brothers and sister and sil got an eyeful they were in there 2 seconds after he was born and seen me but naked and even stayed while i was getting stitches.
As you can tell i'm not a very private person... well i can't be laugh

yes he had a quick look then moved away he thiks it is the wors thing he has ever seen laugh laugh

After over 4hrs of pushing I was a little delirious so DP was looking into my eyes and getting me to focus and mum was holding one of my legs (another midwife had the other) but when the Dr announced the head was out, DP leaned across me, had a look and said "Holy crap, there's a lot of hair!" Now DD was born with a headfull of thick, black hair so I'm assuming he was talking about her and not the 70's style afro bush I was sporting!!! Lmao!!!!
Incidentally another midwife asked if I'd like a mirror to see? I vaguely recall saying if I had to look I would probably throw up! Here's hoping I'm a little more composed for the next birth!

Looked and laughed. He told me later it was the funniest thing he'd ever seen.
With the second he was supporting one leg as the MW was supporting the other so he had a fantastic view of everything.

Before the birth, my DH was pretty sure he didn't want to look (he doesn't have the strongest stomach) or cut the cord, however when it came to that moment when the midwife said to DH "Look, the head is crowning", he did have a peek because he said he was so excited. It was pretty confronting though, so he didn't look again until the head was completely out, which he said was amazing. I was so proud of him, he even cut the cord in the end. I think he thought that seeing as though I had gone through so much, he could suck it up and be brave too! I was completely non-fussed whether he looked or not, it was totally up to him.

Yes mine did and we hadn't discussed it earlier. When it came to pushing he just went 'down' there and watched our baby come out, it didn't bother me or him otherwise he wouldn't have looked. I think he wanted to look to see what all the fuss was about laugh and oh yeah to see his baby being born.

Mine did both times and so did I. I loved having the mirror there to focus on the prize I loved every minute of watching my lil men be born

This made me laugh so hard laugh laugh laugh
My midwife held up a mirror and told me to look, i was telling her no i don't want to. I knew if i looked i wouldn't be able to go on lol.
She kept on doing it while i was pushing i ended up snapping and told her where to put the mirror gasp
Poor midwife lol.

hahahaha..ewww
my DH didnt look with any of our 3 but did sortof see then coming out, he stayed up next to my head, but didnt go down for a full on look-see..he said it would be like 'watching his favourite pub burn down' he recons hed be thinking 'it'll never be the same again!' lol
and yeah we discussed it beforehand, it wouldnt have bothered me at all if he did want to look tho, i had a feel of bubs head but when they asked about a mirror i said hell no i dont want to LOOK!
My partner did and his mum recorded the whole thing. I was very comfortable around her and she has been in with her daughters labour so I didn’t mind. I didn’t have any pain relief and it was 25 1/2 hours so by the end I didn’t care what happened!! I know he defiantly look when the head was coming out but most of the time he was holding my hand or rubbing my head so he couldn’t watch all of it.
My DH did but only because the midwife asked him to brace my feet on his hip and he saw.
It made him a little bit faint and nauseas so I will not expect him to do it again.

DH did, i was really surprised as he doesn't handle blood very well.
I remember panicking that he was going to pass out lol Apparently its only his own blood that makes him really queasy!
I didnt think he'd cut the cord either, i told him i wasnt fussed either way and let him make the decision at the time.
I may have to have a C-section this time, i'm not sure how he is going to cope with an operating theatre. Fingers crossed this baby plays ball and i can have it naturally

My DH did both times. He has often told me that it was horrible laugh With my DS the midwife asked if I wanted to look. I said no at first then ended up looking, then it became frustrating when the head was crowning then going back in. I didn't look with my DD.

before DD1 we discussed Dh staying near my head, as i birthed her standing up he was not able to see even if he had wanted. with DD2 I was in bath leaning forward to DH, suddenly got he urge to lean back so I did and poor DH got a front row seat. really didn't care by that point. he has told me since it was magical for him. tongue
Cheyenne is growing too fast
