Yesterday I made chocolate cake, bolognaise sauce and tomato soup - all in around an hour and then after dinner dh was feeling like something sweet so I made him sorbet in around 3mins and all with basic ingredients, nothing processed or premade:)
Today I made scones for the kids breakfast (they were getting sick of their usual!) I made another batch of tomato soup (yesterdays was so yummy the kids wanted it again) and then the first step of home-made ice-cream smile

Our friend has one and she uses it for everything even to make lemonade and soup!!! Bit to exepnsive for me...well dh anyway lol
It sounds awesome. Where did you get it from and how much was it?
My sister has one. I would LOVE one especially so I make dinner's easier an HEAPS quicker!!!
I don't have one of these myself, but I would totally LOVE to own one. A lot of family members have invested in one and they really are the best thing on the market. $2500 is a lot of money, and even on a payment plan we can't really afford it - just hope my Mum gets bored of hers and might pass it on... wishful thinking much?
I got mine last christmas and love it! i find i cook much healthier food and save so much money. I know i was worried about the costs but since i have gotten it i find its worth its weight in gold.

Bought mine after thorough research 6 weeks ago. WOW they are fantastic, use several times daily. Sold my VitaMix, MagiMix, Grater, Juicer etc.
Butter, quick and simple, and CHEAP with $6 for 2 litres cream at local Market in Whangarei, so much better for children than margerines (artery hardeners!) with their chemically altered oils. Make Coconut milk for 78c litre, Almond/Rice milk less than $1 litre. ANYTHING you want to make just google Thermomix and the recipe and I can almost guarantee someone somewhere is making it. Pet foods, washing detergents, list is endless. Clean-up is a breeze with a result my dishwasher takes many more holidays. Saves heaps if you have allergies as you can make all the expensive foods/drinks at home in seconds. Great if you are a meat eater, vegan or vegetarian.
Yes I am in love with mine, so much so am going to become a consultant so more people can see them in action. I would downsize my home for one if I had to!
Well I was a normal happy, home baker using my normal kitchen appliances.... untill I read this

Now my life is going to feel empty untill I can get one!!!! sad laugh

note to self.. go get a job your kitchen needs you to!
i have only had mine a couple of months but already am totally in love with it.... hope DH doesn't get too jealous!!! (LOL)!! Very much worth it's price, even tho it is a hard bite to chew for a start. Once you have had one for a while, you certainly wouldn't want to go without it!!
my very fussy DD1 (5yrs) will actually eat now, fresh food has so much more flavour!!!!!!!!!
Best kitchen appliance i've ever bought and I use it EVERY day without fail.
So quick, so tidy, so fresh and so easy.
Wouldn't be without mine!

Natasha smile
Dh and I went to a thermomix demo a few weeks ago and I was instantly hooked lol, but unfortunately I'm the same as a pp and even on a payment plan can't afford one sad guess I'm waiting at least 3 more years lol
After months of agonising, I have come to the conclusion that a tm would make my life a little easier. I don't actually want one. tongue I love cooking from scratch, I love the entire process but for the past few months I just have no time to do so and every meal is rushed. We are only going to get busier and then all our produce will ripen and I can see how it would really help me there. I am borrowing my friends one this weekend to have a go before I buy.

Does the novelty wear off or are they genuinely good for a long time?
I badly want one, since my friend got one 18 months ago I am green with envy, honestly they are marvelous.

I'm saving up and hopefully in about 3-4 years I will have my precious own thermomix... can't wait. roll eyes wink
There is another brand out thermochef which is the cheaper version of thermo mix. Thermochef is around $800.My mum has the cheaper version their practically the same thing. She loves it, has made heaps of different things in it.
I have since borrowed my friends thermomix and it was good. But I didn't miss it when it went. I have a new found love for my old food processor though. It already did most of the things anyway.
We have been talking about getting one but atm not financially able but sometime in the next 3 or so months!!!
I Love my thermomix! So much easier to make everything from scratch - and for the first time ever I've been making jam!

Risotto is one of our new favourite meals. I've always loved risotto but find it a bit too time consuming with kids, but thermomix, takes about 10 mins max to get everything done, then just leave to cook itself for 15-20 mins. Turns out perfect everytime, just the right texture, not too thick, beautiful.

Another of my favourites is custard. Chocolate or vanilla, but especially the chocolate. Was making WAY too much of it to start with, going thru bowls of it each week, but soooooo yummy.

Summer weather is perfect for sorbets made with either fresh fruit and ice, or frozen fruit. Delicious.

And cleaning it is a breeze.

Wouldn't be without mine now. grin

Now you really make me want one = I love rissotto but never have time to make it nowdays.

I am seriously in need of something like a thermomix but not as expensive - what kind of food processor do you have? I don't even have a food processor as I could never find one I thought was good enough - any tips?
Just wondering have the ones who have a Thermomix find it easy to use for making baby food if so what have you made?
Bundykat, baby food is the easiest thing in the world in the thermomix. i have made the biggest variety of stuff, including grinding rice from scratch. even just leftovers whe they geta bit older!! the book that comes with it gives you some ideas, also the thermomis forum website.
it is the best purchase i ever made. today i have made apricot chicken risotto x 3 for freezer, dinnder tonight and a friend, cut and sauted onion and bacon, grated cheese, made porridge, and pea & ham soup. Thats a normal day!!! its soo quick and easy even with dd round your feet!
