SLEEP???How many hours do you get?
I have 3 kids all under 7 and I can't remember the last time I had a good 8 hours! just wondering how many hours you get and how long has it been since you had a good night sleep?
I get about 6 or so hours a night, but not in one hit. Lately its been quite bad cos the kids are both sick. But I even find now that even if they don't wake during the night, I still will.
I used to be a really heavy sleeper, but now the slightest noise will wake me. I'm happy if I can sleep for 4 hours without waking in a night.

i havent had a sleep through the night since DD1 was born!!! she was a very difficult child and still doesnt sleep through the night (she is 4 in may)
DD2 and DS are good sleepers thank god, unless they are sick and since they usually all get sick at the same time i dont get any sleep lol.
on a good night i get bout 5 hours sleep, but thats ok i can deal with that in fact i deal pretty well no matter how much i dont sleep, unless its been going on a week then i NEED DF to take over for a cpl night or at least let me have a lie in for a cpl of mornings lol.
but most nights i average about 3 hours (thats broken sleep)
DF is generally pretty good and lets me sleep in on weekends, and that works for us lol

It's been about 7.5years since I had a decent sleep! As far as I'm concerned sleep is over-rated anyway..lol.
Seriously though, with 4 kids there is always someone up and about and I am a light sleeper so even one of them turning over in bed wakes me let alone having them thump around to go to the toilet..lol.
As for hours, I probably sleep around 5/6hrs a night. Not enough and these past few weeks the sleep deprivation is starting to show.

I could count on both hands the amount of times I've slept more than 4-5hrs a night since I fell pregnant with DD1 in 1994!!!!!! I had a hell of time getting to sleep when carrying her and for some reason it's been like that ever since. Even the 7yrs that I was on my own with just the 2 girls I still couldn't sleep properly when they were at their dad's every 2nd weekend.
Now that we've got the 2 boys under 2 I still haven't managed to get myself into a good sleeping pattern and it's driving me nuts. DF has been helping out more now that he's home studying by getting up with the boys and letting me sleep but most of the time it's pointless because as soon as I hear a peep out of either of them I'm awake anyway so then I lay there dozing on and off and I feel like crap when I finally get up.
I'd kill for 8hrs straight but when I do manage to sleep longer than my usual 4-5hrs, I feel awful cos I've slept too long.......I can't win!!

I usually go to bed at around 12 and DD2 wakes at 6am. If i'm lucky she has a quick feed and I can sleep until I have to get up or until DD1 wakes at around 7:30am. If I went to bed earlier I could sleep longer but i'm generally okay with the 6 hours followed by a quick cat nap.

im like this too lol, i usually dont go to bed till 12ish but dont get a straight sleep. between the 3 of them there is always someone needing my attention never at the same time though lol
if i go to bed earlier i wake up feeling like crap with a headache because ive slept too long lol

I'm not sure how much sleep I get... not a lot, and not in a decent chunk either.
Last night went to bed at about 9.30-10, got woken up at 11 (DD), then at 12 (DS) then again at 1(DS) then at 3(DD) and then woke up busting for loo at around 5ish and DD got up just before 7 and I woke up when she turned the TV on..
That was a bit excessive, even for this house - DD usually wakes up at least once a night to use the loo and always, despite me telling her not to, wakes me up to tuck her back in. Lately DS has been waking up too... I give him a milk and that gets him back off to sleep without a fuss usually.

Well I'm spoilt, now that my babies are abit older (19months and 3.5), I usually average 7-7.5 hours most nights, sometimes I even get between 8-9 hours bliss!!! Unless their sick then I feel like I'm being punished smile, but all in all, I think I'm damn lucky by the sounds of things.
Jana1 - oh how we envy you!! Did you have to post that and brag! LOL.
I couldnt remember the last time i got more than 2-4hrs straight sleep. At least 10 years anyhow! I too am a very light sleeper and hear EVERYTHING during the night, the dog walking around the yard, the neighbours coming home, the baby throwing herself against the cot, the kids turning over in their beds, my DH snoring [of course i hear that, he's right next to me!]. etc etc. Must sdmit though after a damn good bit of love making I do fall asleep more easily and sleep more soundly - now if only I could stay awake more oftne during the week to do it every night I think I'd be right! lol

Yeah sorry about that, I sort of thought that as I posted but, I'm not as lucky as my BF, she has 3 kids and she would get probably 9 hours every night!!!! So I'm envious of her smile
I am very lucky. Nikita goes to bed at around 7pm and will sleep through till 6am, which is when I have to get up to get ready for work. Sometimes she will stir once or tiwce through the night and that's just for me to put her dummy back in. Occasionally she will be unsettled between 7pm and around 9pm. Nikita has pretty much slept through the night from around 4-5 months old.

I get 8-9 hrs most nights unless i can't sleep or up doing school work till 12 but i still get 8 hrs than. That will be long gone in 4 months though damn.
DD (2.8yrs) and DS (16mths) are asleep by 7:30pm and I don't hear a peep until 6:30-7am. I would easily get 8-9 hours sleep a night. DH comes to bed late and takes DD to the toilet before he goes to bed and I don't even wake for that usually lol.
I would get 7 hours of BROKEN sleep.. as Brody only likes to sleep in 2-3hr blocks... he is improving tho... I havent slept through the night without being woken since before Jayden was born.

i get about 7-8 hrs a night. But most of the time i get up at least once to taylah
8 to 9 hours. DD started sleeping 6 hours straight at 8 weeks and it just got better and better from there. She does have the occasional bad night where she'll wake once when she's teething. But that's about once a month if that. But then again, I only have one, you have three!

8 to 9 hours WOW!! i remember those days lol I think if I'm 31 now and my youngest is 20mths i will get 8-9hrs when I'm 43 when she turns 14.

One thing I really miss is staying up late and sleeping in till 9 or 10am on the weekends. Maybe when my DD is 14 too, lol.

Unfortunatly I stay up late, with lunches, cleaning, and washing for 5,plus all the cloth nappies it's about 11-12 before i get to bed, yes sleeping in...oh that sounds nice!!!
Ive been blessed with my son, his nearly 15 months and he sleeps up to 8-10 hours of a night with a 2hour sleep during the day, i dont know why he sleeps so much but his such a placid little boy, so im very lucky and get as much sleep as i need! And by the sounds of it, i am very lucky to get my sleep.
Not nearly enough at the moment. I should be in bed now but I've enjoyed being able to watch a movie with DH and not have either of the boys up.
I'm absolutely shattered J has been waking roughly every two hours after midnight the last couple of days. Throw in M making noise at least once and I'm a rather sleep deprived mummy.

Love my boys M-10/05/08 J-01/12/09
almost 10 hours a night... but still feel tired!!! lol. Sorry not meaning to complain. Austin slept 10 hour block since 8 weeks and then 12hours since around 6 months. So I am in no hurry to addd another family member as I think all my luck has been used!!! lol

mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm sleep. What is that again???
I have not had a good night since I was about 8 months pregnant with DD who is now 3.
On a good night I get around 6 hours straight on a bad night I am lucky to get 2 hours straight.
DS now 18 months was still waking up at least once if not twice a night up until he was 12 months old and DD comes and get in our bed and I can put her back in her own bed up to 5 times a night.

I am so blessed with my two boys ds1, if he doesn't have a day sleep, will go to bed at 7.30pm and not wake before 7am. He just turned 3, but if he does have a day sleep, he will still be awake at 10pm and sleep until about the same time. He rarely wakes during the night, maybe one night, he'll wake once every couple of months. Ds2 goes to bed around 6.30-7pm and wakes around 7.30. He might wake up once a week. So, I'm sooooo fortunate, I usually get to bed around 10-10.30pm and can sleep till 7-7.30. I always used to sleep 10-12hrs a night before having kids and that was my biggest fear, that how would I cope getting up so early. Lucky for me my boys are just like me!!! Sleep is one of my favourite things to do!

At the moment, no sleep!! My 4 mth old is currently waking every 1-2 hours. My DS1 was also a terrible sleeper in his first year but when he turned a year old he started sleeping 12 hour nights and still does unless sick which is rare.
So yes I can remember when I last got a full nights sleep and I can't wait for it again!!

reading thru the posts, i actually feel really lucky! From birth, my girl would wake for a feed and a change, then sleep thru. for the past 6 months or so its been great, she sleeps straight thru the night, usually going to sleep around 8pm and getting up around 7.30am-ish. I'm very blessed with a great sleeper.

Reading some of these posts I don't know how you ladie's do it!! I am actually slightly jealous of how some women survive so well on such little amounts of sleep as I've never been good at it
The 'least' amount of sleep I have ever gone for an extended period was about 5hrs a night for the first few weeks of my kids being born.
I am a 8-9hr a night sleeper ... even if it means going to bed early to get it I do cause I NEED my sleep to function lol.

I get 7 - 9 hours of unbroken sleep. It depends on what time I go to bed. DS is usually the first awake and that is normally about 6 - 6.30am.
I probably get about 7 hours unless I go to bed early. Only been the last few months that I haven't been woken by the kids on a regular basis. They are pretty good now and rarely wake. I on the other hand do tend to wake a bit especially at about 3 or 4 in the morning but usually I am back to sleep in 20min or so.
