freezer burn on breast milk Rss

i just noticed that most of the breastmilk i have stored in the freezer has freezer burn. Does anyone know if it is still safe to use it or should i throw it away??
Did you store it in bags or some other method? Are you sure it's actually freezer burn and not just ice crystals that have formed on the storage container/bag?

If the freezer burn is on whatever the milk is stored in then it should be fine. If it is actually on the milk you could always thaw it out and then do a sniff test. if it smells fine then it's probably ok to give.

Personally, there are very few instances I would ever throw out expressed milk; the most obvious one is if it smelled 'off'.

This happened to me a couple of times and I just scraped the affected bit off the top then thawed and used as normal.
