What should I feed my 6 month old Rss

My recently 6 month old has started eating solids, she is still breastfeed, I have started her with, carrot, potato & pumpkin, what other veggies do people recommend? What should I avoid? And when do you know to give them
More than a tablespoon? any advice would be helpful smile

I'd try some avocado and some fruits like banana and apple. I think in the feeding book you get from the community health centres it gives you an indication of how to transition them to more solids. Every few weeks maybe you just add another tablespoon? Don't quote me on that I haven't done it for a while!
mashed avocado
mashed banana
pureed stewed fruit (peaches, apricots)
pureed sweet potato
baby yoghurt (Vaalia)
egg-free custard

At the moment avoid high acidic foods like oranges, and tomatoes

After a couple of weeks, just try adding more to the bowl. Offer it and if she doesn't want it you'll know when to stop. They won't eat too much if they feel full.

Always offer after a breasfeed
my dd is 6 months old and she eats 3 tins of food a day now. now that she is eating more she will start eating what we eat. but she has kiwifruit peaches apricots just mashed dont need cooking or anything. peas and potato mash kumara and fish mash. i just gave her however much she would take when she started spitting it out id give up. if she was asking for more she gets more. they tell you when they want mroe. she has been on solids for a month and a bit now though
Hi a little tip; next time your in the supermarket have a look at the ingredients on the watties cans/jars for your babies age group and then you can try making them out of fresh produce. Also it's a good idea to buy 'baby rice cereal' like farrex (found in the baby food section).. It's good to use to make things more bland or bulk the meal up if you haven't made enough. Good luck. smile
If you are into making stuff yourself I found lots of recipes here.

Had lots of nice recipes that you cook and blend yourself so no nasty additives and preservatives. Has an age guideline too. Most seem to say 6 months.
When my little girl had Pureed I would give everything to her seperate...

She would have pureed carrot, Pumpkin, sweat potatoe and zuchini

When started on a little bit lumpier texture I also gave her brocolli.

The only reason I gave her her veggies seperate so she would eat them when she was on diced food which she does she loves them smile I just think if you mash them all together they get a different taste and wont like them when they get older.

Once you have started them on solids and they are getting pretty good with them keep offering spoon fulls untill the move there head away or start to winge.

For the first two days I only offered a tables spoon each day but after that I just kept feeding her untill she had enough and not long after she was eating three meals a day.

Farrex is important for babies as it has lots of iron and since you have offered veggies first you may need to add pureed apple or pear because it is so bland.
