Weaning baby when she doesn't take a bottle/sippy cup/cup! Rss

Hi there,
Would LOVE some help on the topic above. My little darling is 10 months old and I am going to start weaning her in the next month or so as I am going to be going back to work.
She has never taken a bottle, and will only chew on a sippy cup (have been offering her it for the last 4 months with no luck) She will occasionally take a little bit of water from a cup, but apart from that wont drink any water or formula and was exclusively breastfed until we introduced solids at 6 months.
I would love some help on how to wean in this situation!!
Many thanks smile
ds was the same with Sippy cups we got a cup thats like a travel mug Hoppop at first I would have to hold it for him as it doesn't have a spill proof lid but he soon got the hang of it and there's nothing really to chew.
We spent A LOT of money on sippy cups and bottles and found this one the best plus I figured if it didn't work we still had a decent cup when he got bigger as theres no grooves on it like sippy cups have.
I'm in NZ and got it from Baby city.

Hi, I had the same problem with my son. He refused bottles and would only drink water from a cup, he would just spit out the formula.

I tried heaps of different bottle, teats, cups etc. Also tried warming not warming his milk, in the end it came down to perseverence!!

I picked one type of bottle and that was it, justept offering.

Also, and what I think FINALLY made a difference was getting my mum and hubby to help out by giving DS the bottle. That way he wasn't smelling my milk, or picking up on my stressed out vibes.

Good Luck, hope some of this helps.

Thanks guys! Good to hear that I'm not the only one with this probe smile I'll keep try with the cup I think, I too have spent a fortune on bottles, teats, sippy cups... Nadz27 - I will try that cup you recommended, thanks!
My DD couldn't get the hang of sippy cups that needed to be tipped up, but could drink really well from a straw-type drink bottle or cup. Maybe another idea to try!
How about trying a straw? I had a lot of trouble trying to get my 10 month old to drink water from a sippy cup, have tried numerous ones for 5 months, he would drink from a bottle but didn't want him relient on that. Over the last 2 weeks he is now drinking from a straw and he loves it!
Thanks heaps all - I'll be trying a straw when she's up next as I have a bottle that came with one but have never tried it... fingers crossed!!
