Her father is quite fussy also and I don't what Cathrine heading in the same direction. She is doing fine weight wise and I am getting some things into her but some things I can't. Hi. I want to change my 11month old onto real milk. She is on the karicare weigh dominant follow on formula. I have been giving her wheetbix in the morning with my trim milk and she hasnt and any reactions. So yesterday I made her two bottles up of milk instead of formula. All went well, apart from she woke up at 1am hungry, so I gave her a bottle of formula. Can you please suggest what type of milk I should be giving her. I have been told trim milk from some people as she is a solid girl and then ive heard that its suppose to be the fat milk.
Thankyou

hi
my bub is 6 months old and eating 2 meals a day. just wondering if it's ok to give diluted fruit juice with meals. He won't drink water!

I am having trouble with my 8 mths old refusing milk. I must admit that today I have started back at work today..(only 2-3 days per week). She was breastfed up until 5-6 weeks ago. She usually has 4 bottles of about 180mls. She has the bottles before solids. I think she is teething at the moment to which does not help. My daughter refused to take any milk from my husband and babysitter for breakfast and lunch. she had yoghurt for bfast and only 1 small tub of yog for lkunch and a bit of water. What can I do to help her? she had been starting to refuse the bottle from me over the past few dasys. otherwise healthy and well. any suggestions would be most welcome........also how can i get my nearly 4 yr old to eat faster...50min is a world record for breakfast!

Hi
I started to wean my almost 8 month old onto formula about two weeks ago due to going back to work and not being able to express. Since she started on the formula (with no problems) she isnt eating solids like she was. Before she would eat a whole jar of food and look for more, now after 250mls of formula I am lucky if she will eat 2 spoonfuls. She is still BF during the night if she wakes and first thing in the morning and eats a healthy breakfast of farex and fruit so should I be concerned at the lack of solids she is taking now?
Not sure if its a backwards step or not
Any advice would be appreciated thanks

Hi Leeane,

I am really at a loss here as i have read so much conflicting information - no eggs till 12 months, eggs ok at 6 months, yolks at 10 months then whites at 12 and the list goes on.

My daughter is just over 8 months old and i would like to introduce eggs to her diet, we have no family history of any food allergies.

Could you please tell me when i can give her eggs and whether it's the whole egg or just the yolk.

Many thanks,

Jade.
I have a little 6 month old girl who is refusing to eat her mashed veges but as soon as i offer custard she opens her mouth and wolfs it down! do i just not offer the custard and wait until she eats the veg. The CYH nurse has just suggested mains and dessert but i think our girlis getting too smart and just refusing the meal knowing dessert is on its way!
i dont think im on the right page but i want to add a lilypie ticker and cant do you know how to

Hi

My boy is nearly 9 months and i'm struggling with solids lately. He started really well from around 5 months eating anything and everything. I started on vege's to make sure he got a taste for them before fruit. This was all good until around 7 1/2 months of age where he started refusing his vege's. I keep trying the vege's and with no luck. I was making my own food initially but have started trying commercial foods just to see if there is a particular flavour he likes (apart from vegemite and fruit!).

I've started mixing pureed apple in with his foods just to try and get some vege's down but I don't feel this is a good solution - if anything only encouraging the sweet tooth. Lately he is just closing his mouth when the spoon comes near him. He is happy eating some finger goods (rusks, toast, cheese, banana's etc) but I feel he doesn't get enough food into him this way.

How important is it that they get a good dose of solid foods at this age? He is having 4 bottles a day (240 ml first & last bottle, 120 - 180 mls for both during the day). The CHN's stress the fact that around 9 months the food becomes the priority over bottle and I don't see how i can do that if he doesn't eat a good amount of food.

Hi my daughter is 12 nda half monthsw old and wont eat anything that isnt pureed do you have any advice on what i can do to make her eat foods that are mashed and lumpy if i do try give her this she spits it out and refuses to eat any more hellllllllppppppppppp

Hi, i have an 11mth old daughter that does not like to eat any food besides custards, i have tried on fresh food, processed foods and just any food in general that is suitable for her age. Was wanting some help to get her to eat more then just custards? Also my son who is 4years old seems to take a life time to eat his dinner of an evening, this usually results in him saying he is not hungry after about an hours of little to no food being consumed and resulting in him going to bed as he is tired. Is this normal for his age and what are the best hints and tips to get him to eat his dinner? I never had any problems with my now 8yr old son when it come to feeding in general. The 4yr old about 2mths ago under went a tonsilalectomy if that is of any assistance. Pleas help

Please dont give your child trim milk. Always give either full cream or the normal blue top milk. My DS is full time bar one BF on blue top cows milk and has been for the last 2 months. Has no problems at all.
my 8 month old was at Plunket yesterday - the Plunket nurse said at around 12 months babies can move from formula to cows milk (provided they have no allergies). she said it should be full-fat (blue top) milk, as babies/toddlers under 2 years need a higher fat diet than older kids/adults. my daughter is 98th percentile for height and weight and the Plunket nurse still said full-fat everything, so even 'solid babes' need a good healthy high-fat diet!

Hello! Please help sad

My 3.5 month old just doesnt want to eat! This started about 3-4wks ago where he started eating less & less, now i have to fight for hours for him to finish 60mls during the day, or else he only eats while asleep or sleepy sad hes FF & is on S26 Gold, he alsi keeps regurgitating cottege cheese like milk after his tiny feedings. I dont know what to do, he barely has 400-500 mls a day. Iv tried changing the bottles, teats, leaving him without a feed for hours with the hope of making him hungrier to no avail, given him gaviscon for the regurgitation (that just constipated him) offered water in case it was the formula taste (doesnt want water either) he gags at the taste of anything in his mouth. Hes also very fussy & whiny, gets tired very easily... I just dont know what to do anymore, please help.
Hi

I'm a first time mum with a 11 week old baby boy. We started out feeding by EBM (bub wouldn't latch on) and comping with Nan Pro Gold in the hospital. When we got home, expressing was really stressing me out, because when I wasn't bottle feeding, I was expressing and not getting enough rest. Long story short, I gave up expressing after two weeks and was solely using Nan Pro Gold. Bub ended up constipated and a little spewy (spewing not too bad) and after talking to paediatrician, he said to try a whey based formula like Karicare. After checking the cans, Karicare looked to have less whey than the Nan Pro. Nan Pro Gold - 70% Whey:30% Casein / Karicare 60% Whey:40% Casein. So I didn't change. I talked to a clinic nurse and she suggested we try a goat's milk. So bub's been having Karicare Goat's Milk 1 and his constipation has been sorted out. But the spewing is much more. He's not spewing a whole bottle up, so I don't think its reflux (who knows, it could be, I'm no doctor) but its definitely more than when he was on Nan Pro Gold. Now I've just seen the ingredients of Nan HA Gold and its 100% whey. Should I be trying this one? I think the paed might have been mixed up or I confused what he said.

I would be so happy to hear of your thoughts and/or advice.

Thanks.
