can baby pick up on when I am feeling down? Rss

Hi unsure well the last two days I have not been feeling my self, house bound and feeling frustrated with things.
So yesterday was a pretty good day for BB.
But today she was so unsettled I breast feed the same amount as other days but she was over full or hungry I cant keep up. Spewing then sleep then hungry then windgy...etc etc...
She is 14 weeks old and wouldnt sleep today much so come bed time tonight was a knightmare. It always seems the last bit of the day she is harder to get to sleep. I guess overtired ...she woke at 4.30pm I bathed her and feeding by 5. Then feeding was all over by 6.15 and she was still crying off and on up till about 745. She seemed to be hungry so we feed her then she didnt want it and fell asleep...ahhhh she has been really good for the last few weeks and I think its just wierd how she has been unsettled today...I have still been happy around her so not sure how she could pick up I am not my self.....
I just feel isolated and a bit down..probably this raining weather or something.... all good will pick my self up like I do!! hard work being a mum sometimes... Has anyone else experienced similar with there baby picking up on there muma's mood?
cheers sorry for the noval...

Hi! Sorry you're feeling down - its so hard when you have a bubba to look after while feeling miserable sad

I have had these moments (very recently too!) and all i can tell you is yes, my DD definitely feels the vibe - no matter how cheery I am with her. They know us inside and out, after all, they grew in us for nine months so i believe they know us and our moods better than anyone!

When I am down and unmotivated, DD is so different to normal, so unsettled sad It is hard to get back to happy thoughts but I just made time for myself aswell as i think thats half the problem.

Can you walk with her in the pram? thats helped me. Today i got my eyebrows done for the first time since having DD and I tell you what - best $15 I spent in a long time. It has made me feel like a woman again and a bit more positive. Try setting time for you and do what you used to do - watch a show you love while painting your nails, read a good book, try a bit of excercise.

You will come good, it just takes times to come out of it - Do you have someone to talk to? Your DD just wants Mummy to be happy smile

hello well I thourght she was picking up on it and now you have confirmed it...thanks. oh I bet you feel like new again I should do that i am glad you have done something nice for yourself.
I was walking everyday and have stopped this for several reasons mostly unsettled baby which has prevented me from leaving house.
its just hard as you know some days are good some not so good.
you have reminded me to excercise so thanks for this it should improve my mood...
I try positive thinking and all that but really is tiring looking after a grizzy baby kind of a whirl wind that goes around and around.
wish this rain would go away so I can start getting out again
got my muma to talk to thank gosh

cheers for your help

Its not nice feeling unwell and still looking after a bubba. i think defintely yes babies can def pick it up. i fell pregnant when my first was only 8 weeks old so ive had a few exhausted days and not feeling great and nuggy is whingy doesnt sleep is restless and cries alot. the next day im feeling better and shes perfect. no matter how hard you try to be extra good when your around them i believe they.know they were apart of us for 40 weeks. The best decision i made when i was having a really bad day ask for help from friends or family. im really lucky both sides of our family love her and is always ready to have their time with her. i have a couple hours of rest and the rest of the day is a breeze.
hope you are feeling better soon nothing worse then feeling down & have bub to look after.

i found when my daughter was unsettled getting out & going for a walk even when i didnt feel like it, afterwards i felt so much better & she was so much more relaxed aswell.

setting a little time aside to do something you used to do before bub came along will help you feel more relaxed.
