Working mum Rss

Alrighty so ive returned to work i work 5 nights a week for 5 hours each night. Ive got bub all day as i dont like the idea of day care hence why i work nights so her father can watch her at nights. Im so drained all the time i need ideas for energy as i got from about 6 in the morning and ill be lucky to be home and in bed by 12. I drink more red bull then i think i should already lol what are some great energy foods drinks things to do to boost it up?
like you, i normally work nights too (currently on maternity leave) and do 4 1/2hrs each night. my bed time was 2am and i was getting up again at 7.30 to get dd1 off to school, so by mid arvo, i was usually falling asleep if you can, have a sleep through the day. if not, maybe get your iron levels and also your thyroid levels checked. until i fell pregnant and discovered my thyroid levels were down, i was always tired, no motivation, etc. if they're not to blame, try eating plenty of carbs for energy. i love pasta and usually find it gives me the energy to keep going. or you could try drinking solo instead of red bull. i found that and eating mint leave lollies while at work gave me the energy to get heaps done. good luck and hope you find something that works smile
im trying to loose weight so eating high carbs isnt really my ideal thing at the moment lol

I do nap twice a day if i can get it in i do one in the morning and one before i go to work and that usually gets me through but my house work is suffering big time from it. I might make a appointment to go get those checked out and see what they reckon hope its something simple.

I might try solo for a change see if it does any differnt

thank you =)
for the past year i have worked 2 jobs, whilst working the 2 jobs i was planning a wedding and lost 45kgs. i was a full time mum too and my son never once went into daycare.

my first job i worked nights which would mean bed time for me was around 2am. my second job i work in my gyms childcare and my son used to come in with me and play which was an early morning start and we worked half a day.
it was really hard as i was extremely tired and come friday nights i would be fast asleep by about 7.30.

i made it through the week by eating well and exercise. the rare days i didnt exercise i noticed a big difference in my energy levels. i also found that the days where i lounged around i was more tired..... try and stay active and i would say lay off the red bull. it will affect your sleep and because ur sleep is restricted u want it to be solid sleep.

try and stay active, go for walks or play outside.... eat well and try and nap to make up on what u have lost. i cant say u ever get used to it but u do somehow make it through.

good luck
drink loads of water, especially when you're hitting the red bulls.
Eat heaps of fruit - the natural sugars are good for energy.
and try squeeze an afternoon nap in?
GL smile
You need water, fruit and enough sleep. Take care of yourself and don't over do it hun. All the best with the juggle smile
Im to start taking fruit to work just chopped up fruit salad type stuff to just nibble on constantly as i dont feel hungry by the time 12 comes around thinking that might help.

I do generally stay pretty good during the days i do homecare mags so i have to hand them out and pick them up 2 days a weeks so thats pretty extreme trying to juggle tahlia with that.

I usually nap twice a day one in the morning and one before i go to work so im not totally buggered for work. seems to help a fair bit lol

Ill just give the fruit a go and see if that helps anymore
I wouldnt drink the redbull it gives you energy at first and then you feel worse. Get healthy and your energy levels will pick up.
You said you've cut carbs, so stack up on protein! I'm on a new eating plan myself and have cut carbs down to breaky only and cut sugar all together! i eat 6 meals a day, 3 of those being protein only snacks. I was worried at first about energy as my youngest is having major sleep issues where i get about 4-5hrs a night and as i also have a toddler on 1 day sleep i just can't nap during the day, but i'm finding i don't need a nap, the protein keeps you energised for longer. also have lots of vegies like beans, cabbage, broccoli, spinach & cauliflower and heaps of salads! good luck with everything!
try some vitamin B supliments.
