My Ds has got really bad happy rash/burns from diorreah*. His groin and bottom are red raw and screams when cream and nappies are put on. I have tried sudo cream and bepanthon. For the last few hr he has been without a happy. I have to bath him to clean up the poo as it is hurting him to touch.

Very severe nappy rash is often caused by a fungal infection. You need to go to the doctor to get antibiotics to treat it, and they can also prescribe cream to soothe it.
Right now though, if you have vaseline or papaw ointment to hand, try either one of them instead of the sudocream/bepanthen. Papaw is probably better but just go with whatever you have.

Casey had chaffing the other day cos. I took him swimming in baby seat.
I used cornflour on him after his bath made sure nappy was loose so can dry out a bit.
Apply cornflour for fees days. Nothing else dry out skin lets it breath also.
You can buy baby power With cornflour in it.
Hope it clears up asap for your baby and your peace of mind

if its that bad definately go and see a pharmasist and/or a doctor just in case (as pp said) it is fungal. it wouldnt hurt to give bub some panadol to help with the discomfort and make sure you dont make the bath too hot, a tepid bath would be much better or youll inflame it more.
nappy off time is good. stop using wipes and use a cool damp soft cloth or chux wipes, or your hand if you can.
if you rummage around in your med cabinet see if you can find a hydrocortizone cream (skin imflamation creme) that will reduce inflamation and ease the pain during the night..BUT you didnt specify bubs age i think those sort of cremes are only ok for 12months plus just check on the tube/box.
ive found desintin or sudocreme to be the best healers and bariers when it comes to bad nappy rash.

Hi,
My daughter had severe nappy rash when she was 10 mths old due to gastro. I stopped using wipes and instead cleaned her with cotton balls and tepid water. Due to it being bad I had to use Hydrozole cream from the chemist (to be used sparingly) which got it under control.
Do yourself a favor and buy Penaten (avail from chemist warehouse in a blue & gold tin) it is pricey $28 however goes along way. Use this instead of sudocrem or bepanthem. It is very thick and creates a barrier between for the skin.
I am due any day now with my second and won't use anything but penaten.
Get onto it straight away and it will clear up quickly.
Cathy
