10 week old slept all morning Rss

So my LO is 10 weeks today and this morning is sleeping alot longer than usual. She slept from 7.30 last night till 5 (this isnt too out of the ordinary, its usually anywhere from 4 till 5) then usually she goes straight to bed after that feed and onlys sleeps for another hr or so then thats her for the morning. SHe gets up, has cuddles plays etc till her next feed which is bout 4 hrs after the earlier one. After that feed, which was at 9 today, she will usually play more for an hr to 2 hrs then goes down for another sleep for bout 1 1/2 hrs.

Today she slept all the way up to her 9 am feed and went straight back to sleep again afterwards and is still dead to the world.

Do you think there is something wrong? I have taken her temperature and she is fine. She didnt seem overly unhappy when she was awake, only the tired signs and grizzled coz she wanted to go back to sleep.

Does anyone have any ideas? as a first time mum, anything that is different to what im used to with her i work myself up and worry myself. Should i have a reason to be worried?
I would call that free heathline. Are you in Australia? If so it is 1800 022 222

In NZ its 0800 611 116

That way you get professional help.

My bubs 14wks today! Yay! smile And she's doing the same thing. Slept from 7:30 til 5, then fed, slept 3 hrs woke up and played for an hr and then got grizzly and went back to sleep! I think she just had a growth spurt and is catching up on sleep. As long as you cant see any odd signs I wouldn't stress to much!
Just a chance for you to catch up on house work or wash your hair..lol

If you are worried call Health Direct - but they generally need the baby awake to assess them smile but might have tips while she sleeping smile
I found with my 2, any time they were having a growth spurt they'd sleep heaps, then eat heaps. Maybe she's growing? So long as she hasn't had a bump to the head recently or anything else you can think of, and her temp's fine, it's probably best to get some sleep yourself, and relax. She may have a period where she wants to be awake, so just catch up on some sleep now, or read a magazine or something. If you're really worried, talk to your child health nurse.
I would just keep an eye on her, but not wake her as yet. She may be growing that's all and will be needing all the sleep.

If you are in doubt though, don't be hesitant to wake her and give her a feed.

My DD did the same thing. One nurse told me to wake her, my plunket nurse told me to leave her as people tend to panic when babies sleep all day, but don't panic when they sleep all night (which is totally true!).
She indeed was growing as she woke up skinny and looked different lol

Go with your instinct smile
