Suncream for 8 month old
Is it really necessary to buy a specific "baby" suncream or can I use the normal family one? My DD doesn't have any skin concerns (exma (wrong spelling!) etc). Just don't want to have the extra expense if it's not really any different...
I dont think its any different. Maybe the fragrance is different if anything. Babies is big buisness and they know anything that has for babies on it is an easy sell. Maybe try a bit on there arm and see if its ok.
I did buy the kids sunscreen as babies skin is more sensitive.
But i just tested it on a patch of skin to see.

There was a post about this the other day and a few people said that their are baby ones available from the health food shops which were zinc based.
I personally find the zinc based ones so heavy and hard to get off.
We used to use a Nivea Kids one for the kids but as DD2 was only four months old last summer we bought a baby one.
We ended up buying the Banana Boat Baby which nolonger has the six months+ on it. (I'm sure when I was looking at it when DD1 was a baby it used to say six mths+.) Even though most pharmacists still recommended that we don't use it until 12mths I decided that I would rather take the risk than DD2 get fried!
DF and I are actually happy to use it too. It's not greasy at all. We actually gave our Nivea kids one away(had three bottles) and everyone uses the Banana Boat Baby!
I regards to your question...I'm not really sure what the exact differences are (believe it's different chemicals) but we bought ours from Big W on special and it wasn't really much difference in price to the standard family ones.
