Im going glass for mine!!
Tommee Tippee are fantastic. I use them. I find them much better than Nuk and perfect for baby. I swear by Tommee Tippee

DID consider the glass option but whilst during the considering I became more aware of how many times we tend to drop bottles .... It was ALOT.

I used Tommee Tippee once we had to go FF and found them fantastic!
I also got the TT microwave steriliser and that was great also.

I liked the fact that they are available nearly everywhere baby products are, unlike other brands, IMO.
..

thanks ladies.. does the anti colic valve really work??

bigw has a sale on at the moment where you get the electric steraliser, bottles and a bottle warmer for $150 - am thinking this may be a smart purchase...

i was looking at glass bottles too but thought i'd spend more replacing them!!

ruby gloom - unfortunately the issues started before we introduced bottles..
With the colic, my children never experienced it, so can't give a personal view point,, but from what I've heard it's pretty good.

I found alot of glass bottles are faitly cheap we got some nice ones for $4 at the chemist normal price and its BPA free and they say its tempered so that if you drop they dont break bt Im sure if u drop them alot they would break

my little one never had it either.. hmm think i'm sold on the tt ctn bottles
When my daughter was a newborn, she had very bad colic. At first i was using just the cheap bottles. But i did however use Nuk, she didnt like that until i found Tommee. They were fantastic. Although she did still have colic she would suck on the tommee bottles much better than any other brand of bottle.

But good luck!
We were happy with Tommee Tippee, did use glass as newborns but its not practical once they start drinking larger volumes - the bigger glass bottles are very heavy, and a pain to transport when you are out and about... you dont have to worry about knocking the baby bag with plastic bottles in it.

Just make sure whatever you get is BPA free which these days most are.
It depends on your bub as well. My DS hated the closer to nature Tommee Tippee bottles. He had attachment and breast refusal issues initially (I had a low supply and had to express and feed him EBM) and I found that Calma Medela bottles worked really well for him. He never got reflux or colic and was more willing to BF than after other bottles/teats.

Low supply can be caused by so many different things, from diet and stress to the kind of birth you had or even issues with your baby. The point I was going to make was that bottles will not help you to breastfeed.

thanks everyone... so many choices!!!
I had to top-up DS with bottles every feed when he was little because he was losing weight and not attaching or sucking properly. I used TT ctn initially but within a few feeds he got very fussy at the breast. My LC recommended pigeon and they were great. I mixed fed for 10 weeks and now he's fully breastfed after finally working out how to attach and suck - pigeon were great for us!

Good luck with this bub! If you can persevere with BFing it really is worth it. I had low supply initially but 4 1/2 months down the track DS is fully breastfed and already 9.2kg - obviously no supply problem anymore!
NUK Slow Flow Anti-Colic teats work brilliantly with my 3 month old. We've been using them since she was about 4 weeks old. I expressed full time until 8 weeks because she wouldn't latch properly. I also had supply issues because she didn't stimulate my supply enough in the first week. Breast feeding was hard for me, so I've switched to formula now and still use the same teats. I'll be moving up to stage 2 when she gives the signal the current ones are too slow.
i've heard that pigeon are the closest to breast. Am hoping I have better luck this time, I got to 12 weeks with my first then had to give her formula full time. Still haven't decided but i think it's between pigeon and nuk.
According to me, selection of the baby bottle is important because the plastics which is used to make a bottles should be of good product and there is no problem like melting or bad smells.I think disposable bottles are betters choice.
