My 12 week old has quite bad eczema on his chest and other places, he is trying to scratch it all the time and it is bothering him the poor wee guy sad I have tried sudocream and almond oil and weleda oil and it doesn't really work, oh the doc gave me aqueous cream but I tried it once and I think it caused a reaction so I can't use that anymore ( he has sensitive skin), any help would be apprieciated thanks smile
Eczema
Ohh your poor little man sad It really sounds like your little man has quite a bad case of Eczema and if it's causing him a lot of discomfort I really think you need to take him to a dermatologist. One thing you need to watch out for is that if he's scratching at the eczema it can get infected and then he'd need antiobiotics. It sounds like you need to be prescribed a cortisone based cream, which would only be for short term use to try and get his skin under control.
You could try using moisturizers that have sorbolene and glycerine in them.
Try to avoid all soaps in the bath and also use a washing detergent thats allergy friendly for all your clothes. Also try to make sure he doesn't get too hot. Also avoid putting him in woollen or synthetic clothes as this can irritate his eczema.
You could also try pawpaw cream as I've been told that often helps soothe the itching.
Good luck I hope your little one gets some relief soon smile

I don't want to stop you getting replies to this topic, but I also posted about this a few weeks back and got some great responses. Here's a link to that thread. Good luck with it all.
