Does any one have a baby
Does anyone else have a baby/toddler that eats all day long and doesn't put on weight???
Yep I do! He's gotten better over time but I use to worry sick about my thin little boy. He was really fussy until 12 months old so when he started eating heaps after then I thought he would pile on all the weight but no he is still so skinny compared to all the other kids but he is growing taller which I'm happy about but I share your concerns!
finally someone going through the same thing.
I have no idea how it works she is 15months old and literally eats more then i do everyday but fails to gain weight month after month. she must have an awesome metabolism that i wish i could have lol

haha both my kids have been the same the oldest in their mothers groups and the smallest there. but Lucy (15months) just blows me away with how much she eats, she is super small but at the end of the day has a massive gut that looks a bit like she's malnourished.

My DD eats and eats, an average breakfast for her would be four weetbix, four slices of toast with butter, cheese and marmite, a piece of fruit, and a cup of milk. At lunch she will often have a sandwich with four slices of bread. When she is at daycare they have the main meal at lunchtime and I am informed that she usually has three servings.
She has been small for her age ... both skinny and short ... up until now, at 2 years 3 months. She has finally put on a little weight over Christmas!
Her cousin is three weeks older than her, very slightly taller and very slightly fatter, but eats literally nothing ... she probably only eats a quarter of what DD eats, if that!

My DS was like that but I did notice he gained more weight then ever after about 15 months old so be prepared to breathe a sigh of relief soon! He is still skinny as but I don't worry as much anymore. If only i could have his metabolism!!

Oh really that is great to hear i really hope that happens for her smile

If she doesn't though I wouldn't worry as all children develop and grow differently smile

Although, I have heard that weight gain slows down after age 1, so if she isn't gaining any weight that could also be normal.
If you are worried, your best bet is probably to take her to the doctors and go from there.

At the moment we see the dr monthly just a GP to chart her growth and if she stops growing completely (putting on no weight) we have to go back to the peadiatrician but i really hope something changes very soon and she just puts on a little weight and then she won't have to be monitered so closely

A close friend has a daughter who was very underweight as a baby/ toddler. In the end they just let her eat heaps of whatever she wanted (home made hot chips, milkshakes etc) as well as her good food just to up her calories etc. This little girl had a lot of allergies so was on a prescription formula but had heaps of bottles as well as her food.
Does your little girl drink much milk still? I know its hard to get the balance right but milk/ formula may help too?
I hope thngs improve for you, I kow its very hard to watch.

I do let her eat a lot but she really prefers say and avocado to chips and fruit to pasta but i do try and push as many healthy fat food like avo and baked beans
she doesn't really drink milk anymore she was on formula until about the end of november but then started refusing it she is very stubborn so i tried to get her to drink in bottles, cups straw cups in smoothies and everything and she just flat our refuses. i might get some more and try adding it to her cereal and all her food and see if that helps its just so expensive to waste if she refuses it
thanks for all the ideas i really appreciate it i really hope she just starts to gain weight soon though so it doesn't have to be on my mind anymore
