He wakes at least 8 to 10 times a night, only going back to sleep after I`ve fed him

My 11 month old son Jourdyn will not sleep through the night, he wakes at least 8 to 10 times a night and the only way i can get him back to sleep is to feed him. He is breastfed and clings to me like glue, no-one can settle him except me and his father doesn`t help much at all. Jourdyn is my 5th child and very much the spoilt little boy, i work more than 100 hours most weeks and need more sleep. I feel as though i am going mad, i need help fast before i break.

Answer: Hi,
You would expect him to be sleeping right through the night 7pm to 7am at this age. As I think you already know the problem is he does not know how to sleep without you. It`s ok to stilll breast feed Jourdyn but not to sleep and not during the night. You would need to give him his last feed around 6.30pm have a qiet play and then settle him awake into his cot. If he wakes during then ight you would need to resettle him again without offfering the feed. Easier said than done I know but none the less the only way you are going to change what`s happening. Our settling prgram would help you with this
