Hi Maree
When my daughter was six months old we attended a sleep clinic where we learnt to put into practice the techniques from It`s time to sleep. All went extremely well and for the first time since her birth we were both sleeping. But recently we went on holidays and now my daughter, who is now 10 months, will not sleep. She wakes after 40 mins during the day and every hour or so during the night, and i often end up putting her into my bed just to get some sleep. I always put her into her cot awake and try to settle her asleep but as soon as i leave the room she staands up and cries. When i re-enter the room she will let me lay her down and then will sometimes go to sleep with my hands on her back (i follow the time in and out of the room), but sometimes this goes on for an hour before i give up and put her into my bed. I know she would go back to sleep on her on own if only she would only just lay down for a bit, but as soon as she open her eyes (anytime day or night) she is straight up on her hands and knees and then cannot go back to sleep with out me resettling her - if i am lucky or putting her into my bed if i`m not. I have tried going into her room and setteling her as soon as she makes a noise, before she gets too awake, but nothing seems to be helping her to learn to settle herself again. I think she may also be going thruu separation anxiety as when she wakes in my bed she wants to crawl onto mine or her fathers chest to sleep. Her dad works away from home and i think this may be starting to affect her. Please help me to be able to teach her lay down and go to sleep on her own. I purchased the dvd and hae rewatched it again, but am fineding i am stuck because she wasn`t able to stand the first time we did the program.

At this age most babies will stand and protest and it is hard but as you know it takes persistence and most of all consistency with the techniques. She knows you will give in and she is winning the battle. It is a hard program to follow I know but consistency is needed if you want the program to work.
Cheers, Maree
