Hi Maree
I have a little boy his nearly 8months old on the 4th of sep. He still has 3 sleeps a day and drinks his milk and eats solids as well. His nearly 10kilos and i put him down around 8pm depending on the day. He still wakes up around either 1pm or earlier for a feed but only has a little maybe 120ml or less and goes back to sleep. Wakes up around maybe 7am or later. I want him to sleep thru the night, as the nights im not here. Im at work the 4nights and my hubby does the bathing and feeding and is doing really well. I get home around 10.40pm or later. I want to be able to sleep thru the night and not have to wake up and feed him or settle him down. Its quite tiring and exhausting especially now that im working afternoons. His a really good baby during the day and sleeps around 2hours or less depends. I find in the afternoon sleep around 4.30pm he only sleeps 1hour or less depends. I find if he isnt getting enough milk or solids his sleep patterns are different. His been in a walker for the past few weeks and he loves being in that around the house. Ive put him on his tummy a few times to see if he will crawl not yet, and he sits okay but still falls over. Need a bit of advice?
If you want him to sleep through you will need to stop offering the 1am feed.
You will also need to make sure he settles to sleep awake initially at night and not falling asleep with a feed or he will wake and look for that comfort to return to sleep. You may need to use some settling techniques when not offering the feed, you can get details from the website.
Cheers, Maree
