hi, i have a 5 and a half month old baby son. i have tried everything to try and get him to sleep through. he has his bed bottle around 7 to 7.30. i tried to give this later but he has decided thats when he wants to go to bed, which actually suits us because my husband goes to be early for work. i tried giving water and extended actual bottle time to almost 4am but at present he has gone back to screeming for it by 3am.i have him on sweet dreams formula and he still feeds at 3am,7,11,3,7.im really stressing out as nothing seams to help.donna
You wouldn`t expect a baby to sleep right through until about 6 months so give him a little longer. Try increasing his daily intake for the next couple of weeks to give you confidence he is not hungry. At 6 months you could try a 10pm rollover feed, so you wake him gently at 10pm offer a feed and resettle him.
If he wakes later you can go straight into our settling techniques knowing confidently he has already had a feed. The most important thing in all this is that you settle him awake into his cot for all sleeps so he is learning to sleep independently because most babies are waking out of habit for the comfort to resettle.
Cheers, Maree
