What routine of sleeping, feeding, playing should a 3mth old should be in?

Hi Maree,just wanting to find out how much sleep my 3 mth old needs? She is sleeping through night.I put her to bed approx 8:30 at night and she wakes anywhere between 7:30 and 9:30 in morning! Is this `normal`? Not sure on day sleeps either. Would you be able to help me with a routine with sleeping,feeding,playing a 3mth old should be in.

Answer: Hi Emma,
I think we have many envious mothers reading your question.
So long as she is healthy, gaining weight and happy then don`t worry. At this age you would expect her to be having 3 naps a day for around 1 1/2 hours each and in most cases waking once or even twice from the hours of 7pm to 6am through the night for a feed. Don`t forget the order is feed, play, watch for tired signs and settle into the cot awake to sleep.
