Hi Maree
My daughter is 3 months old and at night time she goes off to sleep fine around 7.30 to 8.00pm and sleeps fine unitl around midnight and 1.ooam when she really starts tossing and turning and throwing herself around even though she is not fully awake. She continues this for the rest of the morning. Sometimes she doesn`t take her dummy, shes tucked in nice and firm, I try settling her buy patting her bum and stroking her forehead but nothing works. I was originally waking her up before I went to bed at 9.30-10.00pm for a top up feed but did find that she wa actually waking herself up fully around 2am so I stopped that. She usually has a bottle around 3.30 - 4.00am even though she doesn`t drink it all like her other bottles. Last night at 5am I ended up putting her with me in bed and she slept fine for the next hour and a half. She has just gone in to her cot in her room for that reason. So how do I get her to have a peaceful night sleep right through.
At 3 months she may well be looking for one overnight feed maybe even still feeding twice.
I would not offer the 10pm feed and let her wake on her own. Try our settling techniques to get her to sleep initially and to resettle if waking under 4 hours during the night.
Cheers, Maree
