This room is for our little girl who we will be expecting in a month. I wanted to create a room with neutral furnishings to bring a calmness to the room but then also give the room a splash of colour without it being too bold or gender specific.
This room is particularly special and unique because I made the wooden tree and the butterflies on canvas myself. Not only did making these save me a lot of money but it makes the room more personal and shows that lots of love was put into it. The butterflies on canvas was done in the colours of the rainbow and placed over the cot with the intention of bringing colour to the room as well as helping to stimulate baby.
The alphabet sideboard with each letter as an individual draw was our first purchase for the nursery. The rest of the furniture in the room was chosen to match the wooden sideboard. We chose this Nature’s Purest cot because it has a modern and different style which we liked. The chest of draws which is also a change table was a practical choice because it saves space in the room, as well as allows for plenty of bench space when changing baby.
I believe every piece in this room makes a statement and is unique without being bold or over the top.
