She is quite a fussy eater, and is only taking approx 150ml of formula

Hi i`m thinking of changing formula, my 15 week old girl has been on the karicare gold pretty much the whole time, as i had a problem with milk supply, but she is quite a fussy eater, and is only taking approx 150ml, and on the odd occasion 200ml. Also her poos are green, and have been for quite a while, i`m wondering if i should change formula, (perhaps use soy???) what do you recomend??

Answer: Hi There,
There are so many formulas it can be a hard job deciding which is best for your bub. In some cases it can a case of trial and error unfortunately. The research does suggest that children who react in someway to cows’ milk have about a 50% chance of reacting to soy also. This doesn’t mean you shouldn’t try a soy based formula, just something to keep in mind. One thing you might like to look into by asking your local chemist is about an extra-hydrolysed formual, which is commonly used for bubs who react to normal formula.

Just bye the bye though your babies growth and development are very good guides of how things are going, so if she is growing well and is happy and contented then things may just be fine. If in doubt of course you can also ask your CHN or GP.

All the best,
Leanne
